PROBLEM STARTING CROSSFIRE SP (E7)

HELLO! I NEED HELP!
When I try to start up the Crossfire Mod Single Player, I get the error message:

"Problem starting multiplayer...E7"

This is after I waited for the multiplayer to patch, and it told me the update failed, and only singleplayer was available (E4).

Please help ASAP; it looks like a kick-ass mod and I really want to play it!

here is a list of error codes for reference:

Crossfire Update not found ... only Singleplayer available [E1] --> connection problem to update-server (firewall configuration ok?)
Crossfire Update not found ... only Singleplayer available [E2] --> trouble with downloading files from update-server (or no right to write into freelancer path)
Crossfire Update not found ... only Singleplayer available [E3] --> trouble with certain Windows versions (install the CF patch)
Crossfire Update not found ... only Singleplayer available [E4] --> trouble while downloading files from update-server (or no right to write into freelancer path)

Problem starting Freelancer ... [E9] --> corrupt installation (or FL already running?)

E7 is a corrupt installation or a problem with permissions for the freelancer path.

did u follow the "Installation Instructions" in the CF Guide?

also: please remove any read only attributes from files and directories in ur freelancer path. please do run installation and game as administrator - always...
