Hello. Y'all know me so I'll cut the crap and get to the topic
I'm gonna make a new mod. It will be like nothing you've ever seen in Freelancer. And it's gonna be about only one thing: Racing.
Ok now some information:
[SIZE=3]Story, Racing[/SIZE]
- The Story and the Game will be all based on racing. There shall be no nomad story. It will be replaced by Racing story and quests (CF-Style)[so it'll be fun in MP too].
- The Races will be given by the story, picked as jobs in the bar, organized by players (in MP) and [if possible], created in space with NPCs [like quick duels]
- In MP there shall be implemented betting system w/ FLHook [if possible. if not, event managers will take care of that]
- The races can be system-wide or universe-wide
- There won't be much trading, but money will be easy to get, if you know how. Also, racing will be kindly rewarded.
- Credits will be really valuable. Remember all that trouble Trent went through to get 1m credits? Now 1m credits will be... lots of money. [Unlike CF where everyone has like 5 chars w/ 2bil. each and a ship costs 10m = Poor Trent :D]
[SIZE=3]Universe[/SIZE]
- The universe will be completely re-done. There shall be no more original systems.
- All the systems will be 3-dimensional. You'll need to go up and down to explore and to race.
- Random wormholes implemented [if I can find tutorial from the old TLR]
- Completely new bases [models] and other stuff
- Radioactivity fields to act as time-limits
[SIZE=3]Ships[/SIZE]
- There shall be no Vanilla FL ships. All ships will be custom-made and each will represent a car in RL.
- There shall be many car classes, varying in speed, handling and other features
- NPC fighting will be minimum in the story, but PvP fights will be interesting due to new weapons [not lots of -] and other stuff
- Upgrades for your ship's speed, handling and other features. Other custom equipment.
[SIZE=3]Groups[/SIZE]
- There will be three main groups: The good [cops], the neutral [think bonty hunters] and the bad [street racers]
- To each group will belong many factions, which change in their ship type choice, racing style etc.
- Each group will own one or several systems, where they'll host group-specific races. Also in these systems you'll be able to hear group-specific music [rock/rap/classic^]

Oh and it'd be really cool if it [and its forum] could be hosted here on SWAT. First somewhat-working betas expected early summer.
