  • i don't get that weight reduction thingy. i mean, it's space. weight shouldn't matter, since we're talking zero gravity.
physics was never my favourite but if i remember that correct, zero gravity means zero weight (mass), and zero mass imho can't be further reduced.

  • no no no!!! :P you cant take out the mass... mass is always present. in space there is no gravity which means no weight (which differs from mass). so if you want to move an object of less mass, you need to use less energy. in other words, using same amount of energy would move that object faster then before.

    :D

  • well yeah physics are not your favorite...i see
eventhough gravity is the smallest force in the universe it is everywhere... and especially in space you will notice it
the mass has a very high influence on every object in space not just because of its gravity but also because of its speed

so lets take a feather and bring it on collision course with the earth and let a nasa noob stop it
and now do the same with a asteroid

yeah, i see there is a difference...
ok, i shut up now and hang my head in shame :(

  • lucy, that's about newton's laws, and how much energy u need to move a certain mass from it's previous state - from a certain course of movement or state of apparent stillness.

weight reduction thingy gives u less mass onboard, therefore u need less energy to move it from previous state. F=m*a, and 'a' in this case is the velocity u would like to get for desired new state of ur mass (either changing direction, accelerating or reversing thus stopping urself). :]

in fl world, with weight reduction thingy u would have higher maneuverability than usual. however, it requires a great skill to b able to use that addition of maneuverability, so ppl usually use armor upgrades simply.

armor upgrade does the opposite, ofc.

  • oh me again :P
    dont get mad :)

well, i must ask another question... most of ppl are aware that adv subspace scanner is no better then adv deep scanner... so i wonder if that's gonna be fixed? can i get a refund (cause i did keep a bill from a salesman on planet harris who sold it to me). i'm ready for legal pursuit if needed!!! ;)

    :D

  • there's no need to feed the lawyers, just meet me anywhere in space for a refund :D
... and bring that bounty on your head along 8)

  • lol, no bounty anymore :P it was 1 day duration. :P
np lucy, i was joking about the refund, what bothers me is the bug ;)

    :D

  • yeah well i've been told that the Mosquitoes are even worse than Wasps
and for what good is the uber-range scanner if you still see players that are ~5k away (9k if in group)

  • ok, me again with a crappy question... :P

while i was still very new at cf i was exploring... and taking special notice for things in altair. :) in one of my searches i found a interesting device called yamato holoprojector :)

well, since i was young and havent got 9mill to buy it, i waited... and finally i earned those 9 mills :)

today i bought it... and guess what, it's another crapppy thing like the subspace scanner :P

so, i'd be happy to hear a word if someone knows about those bugs, or is it done like that on purpose?!

    thx!

    :D

  • no actually what a Holoprojector does is it creates a 3-d image of teh Yamato around your fighter -> so it looks bigger and far more dangerous :)

  • well, maybe that's what it should do... but as i've been told by an obesrvor it just created a thing around me... semi-transparent i suppose... :P anyways...
