  • I'm 56 years old, but love playing Freelancer as it reminds me of thing I love and hate about the our society, thus giving me an outlet for my aggression.

The problem I'm encoutering with you excellent CF mod is in deactivation, it gives several error messages that certain files cannot be unrenamed, this results in having to completely uninstalling the game itself, reinstall it, reboot, install the CF mod, reset to the mode of play to SP normal, or OpenSP in order to play.

    Any advice is most welcome.

Please also note, I am not a MP player, but I am interested in modding at some point.

    Thanks in advance

  • umm CF can not be Deactivated by FLMM because of FLMM's lack of some functionality..
you'll have to uninstall FL, delete C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer [or whichever directory u have] and install FL again.

  • It, actually, is possible to deactivate CF via FLMM. Don`t use the ''Deactivate Mod'' command, but search for the ''Restore backups'' command. Can`t guarantee that no problems will occur, when you want to play CF the next time.

Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

Being a Cynic isn't that bad. Either I'm right or I am pleasantly surprised.

that's why complete uninstall is better, because you'll be sure that everything's OK

  • Damn i had a look to my FLMM and recognized that CF is not activated - but i did it - i know for sure. Maybe the activation of CF was saved and i deleted the information... dunno but this is a possibility for me.

Magnet - wouldnt you wrote another FLMM ;D

Edit: I used several Installations of Freelancer. I mean if once installed - do a backup of it. The backup can be used for other mods - you simply have to rename the CF Freelancer folder^^

  • The "restore backups" function of FLMM has never given me any problem; as long as you use it exclusively every time you wish to deactivate a mod. It is also best to close FLMM after it finished restoring backups, to purge memory before activating another mod. 8)
