Error Running the mod

  • Msinet.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered is the problem I have.

It's windows vista 64bit, it did not ship with some vb 6.0 runtime files. I've already manually added the files and ran the vb 6.0 runtime service pack thing off the ms support website. The error is different now before it was telling me it could not find the files, now they are just not registered properly. But i tried to register it "regsvr32 msinet.ocx" but I've got no luck there i'm getting an error that it is not compatible with my version of regsvr32. So i assume it's not x64 module. But I can't seem to find one. If anybody can help me locate an x64 module or knows this problem and how to fix it please help me.

  • the VB runtime component msinet.ocx that comes with the mod is old, but ppl with Vista were able to use it. what i do not know is if they used 32 or 64 OS versions...

beside installing the complete VB runtime package or "regsvr32 c:/program file/microsoft games/freelancer/exe/msinet.ocx" i don't have any other solution to offer than use XP on another partition and make a dual boot system.

does other software with need of VB components make troubles, too?

if u find a workaround or make it run please let us know.

  • please, try using 'run as administrator' from context menu whenever u try to run something custom made or connected with system software on vista. that means both for installing and running cf, flmm, vb service pack or something similar - at least for the 1st time.

i must specify that it doesn't matter if ur user account has administrator priviledges, since vista has quite strange idea about those, especially when it comes to folders permissions and registry addons - admin accounts r not really admin accounts on vista.

please, report back if there is any success.
