    Just made a thread for random chat about EVE.


    So then Az..... what system were you last sighted in? Myself, my brother, and Zenirix all play EVE Online now. I've resigned from my corporation in order to spend more time with my trio ^^


    Zenirix has taken up the career of a miner, my brother has decided upon being a manufacturer, and I've fitted back into my natural inclinations as a smuggler/scout :D


    Therefore, Zenirix gets the ore, my brother uses the ore, and I guard them whilst they're doing it :P

    Erm - let me see


    Location : I am lost in space - I cant even tell you where I was to get back even there


    Career path : Whatever takes my fancy - although I did specialise in Mining and Industry - I will undock and set sails and follow my nose and take me where the space winds take me.


    For those that remember Elite and the vastness of space in that game - Eve is similar as there are so many systems and stations - you get a good feel for the vastness of space and how insignificant your little spec is.


    One of the first things I will do is explore Gallante space - which I think is pretty big in itself.


    Re mining - I think it's a shame that option is not available in Freelancer as a more viable option to make money - some of us remember doing that stuff in Elite LOL


    On my last few days in Crossfire - I did actually explore that a bit and was able to mine some water (LOL) in Magallen - but apart from the diamond mining in Hiruga - I cant remember if this career path - is a good choice in freelancer - it would be something I would explore more if I had more time to play in freelancer.


    I would reckon Braben and Bell would quite like Eve.


    After our recent conversation Ryzune, I have purchased a new ship which can fit upto 6 turrets - and I think I will looking to pay back some pirate scum for their insolence.


    Re the ships - LOL - they look real alien strange - I am not sure if some of them would win an award for strange art design


    First ship - Reebok football boot
    Second ship - Insectoid
    Third current ship - looks like half of an airplane if you cut one in half - from to back LOL


    But yes - a lot of variety there


    I think I need to have at least 2 ships- one for mining and one for exploring - but I am not sure how to do this - but following the tutorial missions I know you get some free ships which can be used to transport your self from mining ship and explorer ship.

    You can buy a second ship, and if you dock with the station that contains your ship, you can click on the "Ships" button on the bottom left, and then right click your other ship and select "Make Active". This will transfer you to your 2nd ship. It might be possible to eject and get into another ship, but I've never been inclined to be in my escape pod in space. Too dangerous ^^


    I myself specialise in smuggling/scouting, therefore I currently have only one ship, a Tech I Interceptor Frigate. I also plan to acquire a Tech I Interdictor Destroyer, a Tech II Interdictor Destroyer, and a Tech II Interceptor Frigate. These are all ships of the Interceptor line, which is my specialisation.


    The Catalyst you bought last night is a Destroyer class ship, designed to kill frigates. Should work well against the weaker pirates in the high security systems.

    Yeah - I have swapped ship a few times - what I dont want to do is take my explorer ship all the way back to my mining ship - then switch - then finish mining - then take my explorer ship all the way back -


    I am thinking to use a cheaper (free) ship to travel in - as losing a fully equipped ship can be expensive to replace.


    I have also replaced my gats with lasers which are more accurate - but have shorter range -


    When I kill those pirates I prefer to look them in the eye when I thrust my blunt blade into their beating heart


    Mwhahahahaha!!


    What is also nice is that there seems to be a few diff ways to make money


    Mining
    Trading
    Salvaging
    Production
    Bounty Hunting or npc killing
    Doing missions and earning Loyalty Points LOL - I am looking forward to doing some of these :-)

    Yeah it can be a pain..... as I am a scout, I use extremely fast ships. My Tech I Interceptor Frigate can do 390 m/s on it's own power, but I've also fitted an afterburner, which when activated increases my top speed to 506 m/s. Very fast, but also weaker than a dedicated combat frigate.

    An Ore thief gave me some grief


    My mining yield I have begun to build


    By attending Astrogeology School - I am no fool


    Soon, flying the Cruiser Osprey - I will mine all day


    Advanced Drone Skills will allow me to kill


    A secret alternative char will allow me to spar


    With an ore thief who I gave some grief


    Yesterday my first level 2 storyline mission yielded a +2 implant.

    My brother is just skilling into a Minmatar Hurricane class battlecruiser. Should be fun :D
