Longbow bombers

The F/A-76 Longbow bomber was designed with a single purpose - to deliver torpedoes to enemy capital ships. Despite having a reputation for being clumsy and underpowered, the 'Bow's massive firepower bolsters any strike mission, as long as a fighter escort is along for protection. Although it carries the heaviest shielding and armor of any Confederation fighter, the Longbow's lack of maneuverability attracts light enemy fighters like hornets, and even hornet stings can add up over time. To defend itself against faster, more agile foes, the bomber carries a substantial missiles load and wields a deadly rear turret sure to make any hostile think twice about approaching its backside.
