Let's Play Freelancer Crossfire: Disclaimer and Intro
Ajay
Hello everyone. This is Ajay, and I decided to make a playthrough of Freelancer Crossfire.
First of all, I'm going to get this out of the way:
-I was going to make this story only screenshot-followed at first. Then I decided to finally man up, create an YT channel and use it to host videos of cinematics and combat scenes. This comes with following problems you'll have to deal with:
--I'm using unregistered Bandicam. This means, videos will be short and will have that watermark. At least bandicam's watermark is not as annoying as other programs'.
--Using videos might break my concentration on taking screenshots. In some cases I will use screenshots taken from the video after recording, which will mess up quality. Deal with it.
-I will play with full knowledge of the Freelancer Crossfire world, but I will pretend I know jack about the game's plot for the purposes of humour.
-I will get the most cheesy configuration of ship/equipment I can think of.
-My combat skills suck and I am not going to use combat video guides.
-I like Freelancer and I more or less like Crossfire mod. But shall I come to certain frustrating moments, I will roast those moments. Please do not take that roasting as directed towards CF as a whole or towards anyone involved in its development. Instead, consider such roasting as a player's feedback.
-The goal of this playthrough is twofold. First is to help newbies to get through the parts of the game they find difficult. Second is to entertain people who have already played the game by providing a humorous overview of the events they already witnessed and experienced.
-Later in the future, I will consider writing a Russian version of this playthrough.
With that out of the way, let's move on to Intro.
FP7: Roger that, all systems show green. SA-14, you're cleared for departure.
SA-14: Acknowledged, Freeport 7, we'll see you in about two weeks.
So, here is where it all started. Freeport 7, a Zoner controlled station in the Border Worlds.
It's worth noting that apparently in Vanilla FL, Freeport 7 was supposed to be located in Sigma 17. But for the purpose of the cinematics, it is technically in a separate system called Freeport 7. Crossfire made that system available for visitation, so this cinematics will look noticeably different from vanilla FL.
FP7: SA-14, we're picking up unknown contacts on long-range sensors. Dispatching a fighter wing to escort you out of the system. Godspeed.
NC: Navy Command, this is Freeport 7. We're picking up some strange readings from long range sensors.
FP7: Alert! Unknown ships have breached the defense perimeter! Man all stations!
Ooops...
Well... The story of Freelancer starts with a considerable bang.
PLANET MANHATTAN, NEW YORK SYSTEM, LIBERTY SPACE
News: President Jacobi has asked the LSF to investigate the sudden destruction of Freeport 7. No word yet as whether it was accidental or a deliberate attack. The first handful of survivors arrived on Manhattan this morning.
And so, we are greeted with the sight of an Armored Transport landing on Planet Manhattan. A bunch of people exit the transport. Naturally, camera lingers on our protagonist.
Meet Edison Trent, a Bretonian who once decided to try his luck in the Border Worlds. In a way, this guy's luck turned out to be quite similar to that of Commisar Cain: Gets him in a lot of messes - and, incidentally, through them. Freeport 7 was one of such messes.
Two men with a hover-stretcher rush towards Trent
Medic: We're here from Medical. Is there anyone seriously injured?
Trent: One. Inside.
The men with a stretcher rush towards a transport as Trent walks out and looks around. A Defender heavy fighter flies past him. The medic team walks past, the stretcher is now occupied. Trent walks up to them.
Trent: Make sure he lives. He owes me some credits.
Medic: Your concern is touching. We'll do everything we can. It will take a while.
The medic team walks away, and as Trent looks at them leaving, the camera lingers on an another FP7 survivor...
who looks around, takes a drag of the cigarette and walks out, as camera pans out to show the Manhattan Landing Pad.
And with that, the epic saga of Freelancer (as well as its epic continuation, Freelancer Crossfire) begins.
News: Officially the Liberty Security Force maintains there is no proof Freeport 7's destruction was deliberate, however sources inside the LSF say they suspect the dangerous criminal organization, The Order. We ill keep you up to date as the story develops.

Well, this is a test run, this is why it's so short.
