IRC would be interesting/usseful if we could combine in-game chat from the server with a forum server one (so we could atually chat from here, more attention to both sides, etc), same as on Minecraft servers, but since Freelancer is not Java based, it won't work out.

For chatting on here you get that in-browser chat from down on the right corner, like on Facebook... and the SWAT Portal chatroom. If it's about voice chatting, IRC can't handle that, you need TS, that's also on here. And works for anyone no matter in-game or on the forum
