I believe the reason is that FL is a MULTIPLAYER community, that's the difference.And IMHO the FL comm works more together since starport started (or at least at that time...FLHook plugins - sharing of ressources..etc.)

I think you should not only seeing this "campaign" for the modders only - Also for the player's sake.

I think so - I experienced a very good cooperation between SP-Games modding teams (for instance, gothic), while MP mods seems to be more competiteve (half life too, if I am not mistaken)
