An old thread, but still interesting I think. Got bored and visted a 2006 psych textbook for a class I'm taking... evidently two psychologists had different approaches to defining intelligence. Gardner came up with a theory of "Multiple Intelligences" defining 7 independent scales of intelligence a person possesses, and Sternberg a "Triarchic Theory" defining three.
