I also would like to do that... but atm this is not possible... or at least not without delaying crossfire release another month just to write a new installer on a good side ... i was able to activate CF1.8 in all FLMM versions that are mainly used-> FLMM 1.31, FLMM1.4beta and the new FLMM1.5beta (which still seems to have some probs)
