Hurrican katrina did us in good, but i do have to say that the rise in oil per barrel costs is due to the war. in 1991 when the first gulf war happened the gas for regular cost $1.05 the day after the start of the war it rose to $1.15 by the end it rose to $2.05 here in ny and didn't drop back to the $1.?? range till almost 1995.
