Well, the game only installs what's needed for the mod, in the folder you placed it. It doesn't change any exterior codec... maybe it's a bug/error that happened at the first load of the game and you have to reinstall the external players. It also depends on what external players you have, also as the OS, like windows vista, or W7 or XP..
