Hi,
Your problem is known and is common to any installation of FL mod (not only Xfire)
- With Windows Explorer, toggle the Freelancer directory and all files / directories below in read / write mode
(Another solution is to uninstall, cleaning all FL diretory manually, then reinstall FL)Hope it help

Try to update your Vm player to v.4. (freeware)
I use it on my PC at work and it works fine with windows 7 (64x pro).

Just a note: The autobuy function is enabled (or not) for all chars of the same ID.
So be careful with your chars that are not BS or Trains ... as VHF, Autobuy function will not work... -
