Changing the FOV seems to be doing the trick, but that causes my menus to dig into the top of the screen so that's out of the question.

There's got to be some file for the nav map specifically, even if I have to squish all of the letters and numbers closer to the middle.

Actually, the dev's should be able to set up a widescreen mode in 1.8 if they size all of the map textures.

    EDIT:

Theres a file called universe.ini, some systems have a setting for NavMapScale, the problem is they are named stuff like "CF58"

Would anyone happen to know the CF number for Vega?

Probably not supposed to touch this file though, and it wouldnt be much of a solution.

Shouldn't be the card, the grid used to work fine before I set up widescreen.

I also reinstalled CF before setting it up.

I got widescreen working in the freelancer.ini now too. I guess CF just needed to update first.

    Grid is still messed up.

My problem is that my backround is scalled 1 unit too much on all sides.

    I've attached a picture.

*SPOILERS* Pic has basic contents of the Vega system.

I think this might be a widescreen issue, but I also think that if it always hapened with widescreen i'd hear more about it.

I'm running CF at 1680x1050... but I didn't change the Freelancer.ini file because that causes CF to crash. Maybe that has something to do with the start up vids? However, without changing the freelancer.ini, the ingame part is still widescreen.

Backstory aside, this is what's happening:

My grid in the nav map is a different size than it should be. Some of the letters and numbers fall between boxes, but then some are on the lines or near them.

Same problem in MP and SP, it got really annoying trying to find that Alaska portal from Midpoint while under fire without my grid.

ALSO I can't set waypoints to the far right of the grid, they click to about an inch or two away from the border. AND when I zoom in and scroll around, the text seperates from the backround. The names of planets litterly scroll faster than the planets themselves.

    Any clue what's going on?

I've been upgrading a Tempest. Not sure what heavy fighter to go for, but I figured it's better having this than a Titan... Because Titan's like to lose their wings and their guns and thrusters.

Anyway, I loaded it with Sala MKIIs and decided to attack one of those CSF Hammer-whatever battleships. It took me over an hour to take it out because it loved cruising away and recharging it's shields when it had very little armor left. Either that or flipping around faster than a fighter and shooting me with those huge cannons.

And the worse is when the CSF fighters would come, i'd have to pour out my countermeasures and cruise till they dissapeared.

FINNALY I got that one critical hit on him as he was charging his cruise engines and he started the blowing up sequence. I tried to chase him, BUT!...
    ...

3 Mollys came out of nowhere in noob rogue ships and cruisemissled me!

That battleship blew up i think 2000m away and didn't drop anything because of the distance!

I'm going to grab level 10 guns atleast if I do that again, but all I wanted to know is how much i'd make off it.

So heres the question: How much is an Escape Pod [Admiral] worth?
