  • WINDOWS 10

    Many users of win 7sp1 and win 8.1 might have registered a 'new' icon on their taskbar, offering them a feeless upgrade of their OS to windows 10.
    Wondering what kind of spam, virus, trojan or else I might have captured I did a 'lil search on the web : It seems to be real and no malware (whatever you might think of windows itself :P )


    Seems we get another OS with questiionable compatibility to Crossfire .... or not ?

    Windows 10 will be released on 29th of JULY and not before, so no comments on it (generally and according CF) are possible yet. Up to date only previews and tech-builds were available for testers (what I am not ! ... have to rely on others esp. professionals like Game Star, PC Hardware and others)

    You only can reserve such an upgrade using this unasked installed 'lil app on your computer. You don't get nothing yet.

    More or less directly you're asked to check if your computer is eligible for win 10 at all => Microsoft has a free hand to check all of your actual hardware AND probably (most likely) your software installed. MS get everything ... they wanna know of you.



    I don't know much about win 10 yet. Only that the builds tested yet dig quite deep into your system, esp. including your security/antivirus software and set-up, that can/might/will be changed by such an installation/upgrade by microsoft itself ... with questionable control of this process by you.


    From the reviews I've seen so far, win 10 seems to be an optically changed version of win 8.1 with a real working start menue, that rly owns this name. Some slight speed enhancements on starting are also reported, compared to win 8.1 and even slighter to win 7. Otherwise it seems to be ... win 8.1.


    Any other opinions/notes/perhaps even knowledge on win 10 are highly appreciated.



    IMO this unwanted app has mainly one function :
    to 'spy on your hardware, eventually software for usage out of your control by microsoft.

    Returning from a mission to improve the public security situation In Altair space my ship - in dear need for some heavy repair and replacements - limped to Liberty space heading home, when I received a distress call via encoded GalNet. The |DP| clan had been attacked. As it seemed the ruthless pirate CyGnUZ, already well known for his criminal intent by the |TSH| clan, had invaded their home system, not only disobeyed their decent system rules but also managed to destroy one of their capital ships.


    Leaving this ship for at least some of the needed maintenance and by use of some octarine teachings from Unseen University the nearest operative in Honshu, |TSH|John.APE.Keel could be activated, rushing to Sigma-19. Meanwhile strong |DP| forces were trying to hunt the violator of their home down but he escaped to Sigma-19 only to be grounded on Luxury Liner Hawaii by the |TSH| officer.


    Instead of bowing to the now also on the spot appearing |DP| forces the pirate kept on fighting which resulted in an extended battle. Even the taken fine during this battle couldn't teach him humility. And therefore the 'wild dance' between CyGnUZ, |DP|denne', supported by the Reliant-class battleship |DP|Monitor in just that function and |TSH|John.APE.Keel continued. Due to magics of the multiverse stronger than my spells |TSH|John.APE.Keel had to leave at some point but with the feeling that this pirate received the bashing he almost begged for.


    However, I am sure the guests aboard Luxury Liner Hawaii enjoyed this show of an 'Hawaian Wild Dance'.


    (perhaps should ask Orbital Spa and Cruise Lines for an artists gage...)

    If 'SC' will be finished at some point in the future I am sure there will be some users here on the portal, who play it :)

    @Kermit ... about this cursor probs you described trx using the command 'Toggle Mouse Flight' from controls options in main menue ;)
    ... 'drawback' you have to hold the left mouse button to move your ship

    ... was die nächste "Lizenz" in's Spiel bringt : Mercenary = Auftragskiller, Kopfgelsjäger, gewissenlose Söldner, die ihre Fähigkeiten an den meistbietenden verhökern ... :P:D .
    Sie sind die einzigen, die in der Lage sind von anderen Spielern via Konsolen-Kommando ausgesetzte 'Prämien' zu kassieren. ... und sich natürlich von anderen Spielern für oben genannte Dienste anheuern zu lassen, z.B. von Schmugglern, wenn die nicht ihre 'Taxe' an Piraten oder ihr GERECHTES :king Bußgeld an Polizisten zahlen wollen. ^^

  • Polizei Lizenz

    Mit der Polizei Lizenz nimmst Du die Rolle eines ... Polizisten :police: im Crossfire Universum ein (schließlich ist das hier ein 'role-play' server ;) ).


    D.h. : Jeder andere Spieler auf dem Server, der eine Piraten Lizenz trägt ist quasi automatisch Dein Feind und kann Dich angreifen, abschießen, alle machen :vinsent: , nach Lust und Laune mit oder ohne 'tax' (d.h.: zusätzlich Kohle für ihn, wenn er dich abschießt, je nachdem, wieviel Du 'wert' bist).
    Umgekehrt kannst Du das mit jedem Piraten natürlich auch so machen. :D


    Weiterhin kannst Du jeden Spieler - egal ob der eine Lizenz hat oder nicht - den Du mit 'verbotenen Gütern' antriffts, wie z.B. Schmuggler ^^ , 'finen' (d.h. ein Bußgeld abverlagen), das bei machen Schmugglern so ab lv 89 oder gar 100 bis zu 20 Millionen bringen kann. $$$$$$$$ :D


    Du bist (mit)verantwortlich dafür, das die bösen Buben im CF-Universum nicht Überhand nehmen und hast die offizielle Erlaubniss solchen nachzustellen und in den Spieler-Ar*** zu treten. :bodycheck::D


    Mit einer Lizenz wirst Du vom zuschauenden Opfer der Piraten und Polizisten zum Akteur in der ganzen Chôse.
    (Kleiner Nebeneffekt : Deine Scanner-Reichweiten verbessert sich automatisch und deine Schildkapazität glaube ich auch - die aber unwesentlich irgendwo im +10er Bereich.)
