well, i went over my damn principles and used a savegame editor to move my save point (with the pods sold) from the prison to manhattan. I'm not proud of it, simply was tired of trying to level up and failing.

Do you think the bug is gonna keep on happening later in game? Or when i level up, it makes more sense to the game?

yeah since everything thru there is higher leveled, or almost, i felt like i shouldn't have been there yet and i hate cheating, so i'm not gonna change my save file.

i there any prison in NY that i'm not aware of? cause i don't have yet jump access to colorado or california stuck on level 2

EDIT: nope, same thing again... well actually, when juni waits for you in manhattan, the only way i found of getting rig of the waypoint thru X-3043 is to set another one (random, not thru X-3043).

My 3d sound is always deactivated. Is there another way to get out of Vega or Neophobos than going back thru X-3043?

indeed, after gaining my 3rd level, the waypoint sets itself to manhattan, and i followed it of course. You're saying that deactivating the waypoint would fix that?

Also thanx mizibelle for the link and all, i just really don't think my problem is related to the MP. Coincidence also, i found the mod, i never play online on anything... but i wanted to on freelancer, and just as i download it, try it and all, the server is down

I'll gladly wait tho, i'm having a lot of fun with this game. (I found out about Freelancer a week ago or so)

Ok, i post this here cause it contains the new systems accessible with X-3043.

So i started a game, played up to the first time "freelancing" in game and then took the secret gate to custodian from behind manhantan, then to X-3043. I wanted to find a prison to sell my 30+ pods since i could not go up to the level required for Juni to call you up. I found one in Neophobos system called Garrit (i think) and sold em, came back to the jump gate to X-3043 and where it should say "Loading Crossfire Datafiles" the game exits out itself. no error message, no nothing. Just back to Windows desktop.

I restart the game, load saved game, autosave.... and before it opens, same thing. Crash.

I had about 1,537,000 credits and thought that could be it, or that particular jump gate. So i tried to find another prison in the Vega (again i think....not sure). Point is, i sell the pods, come back to the gate towards X-3043, same thing happens again.

What is happening? My 3d hardware sound is disabled always. My computer ain't all that great but even with the new graphics of Crossfire, Freelancer runs totally smooth.
Is it because i'm not supposed to have that much cash before reaching level 3?

Edit: I tried it selling only 2 pods and that made me a total of 180,000$ or so. I reached level 3 with that as i did earlier, and the same thing happens. I guess i have to reach that level while in NY.

for a start i would suggest to make some money with trading to get a decent ship and some good equipment. then u might like to pod hunt and sell it to the prison stations for the money...

thanks for your advice m8. Adding to what i read somewhere about a hidden system that i found, i got me a better ship and i'm keeping up. I'm really enjoying it now! The start off was a bitch tho

Hi, i just started playing Crossfire a couple days ago. I have tried to play MP but i kept getting a "update not found" error and gave up. I like the mod a lot, great visual, new effects. It's by far the neatest out there.

But it takes me forever to go through a couple missions. I have to agree with blackfirefox that when you start, and you have to spend 15 minutesat least) on 3 ships, then more of them, it gets very irritating. And once you managed kill those, you're directly going to another battle. No buying more missiles. It takes forever. The rogues and such recharge the nanos and batteries way too much and with those justice mk1 there's no way to kill em.

I'll start reading the forums a lot and trying to find ways to improve my skills. I only hope i find something drastic that helps me out. Cause i would like to keep playing this mod. But as much as i want that, it gets very boring and i'm not a guy who can spend 16 hours a day on this.

Other than that, great job guys!
