trains' advantage on cds is intended, imho, and i would not really like to see that changed, cause trains could not b used anymore then, especially against agressive npcs.

u cannot stop a train from behind while it's in a cruise, if it has no containers, since u have nothing to hit from behind except containers' carrier, and that one has little to do with engines, which r up front. so, a train with no containers is usually hard to target with cms, since u must hit cockpit (usually impossible from behind). the same goes for guns too, and imho, it's perfectly normal that way and should not b changed.

u still can stop it with cd guns, anyway, if u really need that. also mosquito missiles usually stop it too, because of their speed, but it depends upon place of hit.

both of ur problems have little to do with this manual. this is rather a modding manual, not a support one.

neil, u probably have a 3d sound related problem, so u should fix it by simply turning off 3d in fl options. fl has a bad sound engine and it makes issues with certain sound chipsets at 3d sounds support, so turning it off is the only solution.

lucy, ur problem is probably corrupt installation of ur client. try downloading fresh copy of cf1.7, and reinstalling everything again. if u continue to get similar errors after reinstall, plz get back to me and we'll solve it once for all.

try alt-tabbing, u seems to have typical accept terms dialog window problem - it's minimized, so u can bring it up by alt-tab after launcher launches cf. accept terms dialog window is fl thingy u have to accept on 1st run, and if u haven't started fl before activating cf, u may get it minimized.

crossfire troubleshooting guide is a flash-made guide and it's a bit big, so u just have to wait for it to download (it will ask flash download too, if u don't have it on ur comp, but i doubt that).

norton is a good software, and i use it since dos age, and i never had a single problem.
antivir is... well, detecting cf as a virus tells enough.

anyway, m8, no sweat, i'm here to help.

antivir is a bad antivirus solution, and those r false alarms. u can just ignore them. or simply use other, better, antivirus solution, like nod32, kav or norton.

ofc not, since those files r static and represent no cheating possibility for third party. on the other hand, situation will not be any different from now: u can modify certain files in cf and yet have it working (because those r just cosmetic changes, nothing that would affect gameplay and/or server).

if u wish, ca, i could do that part of the job, inserting infocards into appropriate files and taking care they r functionally edited. u could use technical help, imho.

i do agree a bit with magnet, not that i don't lilke them, but they do seem a bit - too much details.

anyway, installer will support options, so we'll b able to choose which textures we like best (even modifying installation will b possible, without reinstall, so one can switch anytime without reinstalling fl, cf, flmm, etc...). :]

yes, it looks nice, but somehow seems like a static image, without any 3d engine effects... at least to me.

i'm already working on an independent installer. so far i am basing the installation on the flmm cf1.7 script, and as far as i was able to see, nsis could do the job. will inform on any problems as they go.

since i am good with many technical things, anyone needing help can contact me and i'll take part gladly. contact infos r on my profile... so if u ppl need staff for ur projects, i'm available.

so, do it, and then present it. i guess he'll accept anything better than previous solution, he just dislikes to waste his own time on other ppl's projects.

hmmm, unusual. maybe ur cf installation is buggy. i don't know that anyone had similar troubles, so, plz reinstall, and check then. it's not vista issue, since there r players who have no vorkuta-issue on vista.
