EVE doesn't work on Windows 98. It works on 2000 and upwards as far as I know. It's optimized for XP and Vista though.

Az gets excited at the thought of mining large rocks on EVE Online, as demonstrated last night.

I believe you will find that I shall be given the position as head of mining before the end of February!
I figure that's how long it will take me to build up a mining fleet and amassing my fortune. Then I shall be appointed as Head of Mining, and Shriisa will no longer be able to tell me that she outranks me!! I will outrank *her*! Muahahahahah!

If you're on a budget..... just buy a basic dell system (you'll get your operating system and all the basics to make it run, and a monitor), and then upgrade it with the parts you want. My idea was always to get the unit so it will run, and then get it to how you want it.
Alternatively yeah, build your own. But it can be a pain, and you have to fork out for the operating system too.

Doesn't it depend on your connection speed though? I mean.... I have 8MB, and I can use Napster whilst playing and have no trouble. I don't lag at all, nor does anyone else. Besides, a Napster track only takes about 3 seconds to download.

Hmmm..... I despise.....
Liars.
People who don't say what they think.
People that think they are better than everyone else.
Backstabbers.
People who want to be the center of attention.
People who can't see their own faults.
Camels.
The warm side of the pillow.
Cottage Cheese.
Blue Screens of Death.
Smart Cars.
Chipmunks.
Fake tans.
Girls that are obsessed with their weight, hair, and makeup, as they are just pathetic.
Caravans.
Um...... and red lights. I have an intense dislike of red lights.

I myself am a hard-core miner. My corporation has supported my decision to be a miner with the promise that once I have the required skills, I will be given command of a Mining Barge we have in storage. It's a Retriever class Mining Barge. I will have the skills to pilot it within the next 2 weeks.
On a side note, Mining Barges are the first mining only vessels. That is, they cannot fight in any capacity, as they lack the shielding and armour plating for combat, and also are unable to mount any defenses other than drones. However, they aren't actually the best and/or final mining ships. The Tech II versions of Mining Barges are called Exhumers, and they are far superior to the Mining Barges. Heavier shielding, heavier armour, vastly superior cargo holds and an increased number of mining lasers.
But the true end game miner's ship is the Rorqual. It is a Capital Industrial Ship. It has bonuses to increase allies mining capabilities. It also is capable of having ships docked inside it, and has a clone bay so that pilots can come back onboard the vessel instead of having a long haul back from base. It has an extremely large cargo hold, heavy shielding and armour, but is incredibly slow. It hasn't got a chance vs. any real combat ship, so must be guarded by it's allies. The ship itself usually costs between 1.2 billion to 2 billion ISK, and the skills required to fly it would take months. But for the miner, the Rorqual is the ultimate. Hence this will be my endgame ship, which will be my pride and joy
However, I suspect Az will find a way to make good use of a vessel such as a Dreadnought, or a Faction Battleship

My brother is just skilling into a Minmatar Hurricane class battlecruiser. Should be fun
