    Plot:
    As a result of the anomaly, the representatives of your civilization % Player_Race% got to no one knows where, where else heaven knows what's going on: the planets belonging to the star are completely alien and behave differently than they should according to physics laws, why often the annoying breakdowns and misfires are happen.
    But this is not the last thing that will surprise you. The worst test is yet to come. And it is called the "Ghosts" who can animate your fears and sends them to you in such quantities that you have not seen even in your most terrible nightmare.

    Shord description:
    The map is an interpretation of Morning Star system from "Chronicles of Guardian", as well as the plot.
    Initially, the game sets the player in front of the task is not to choose the most effective strategy: development, defense and attack and so on; but the strategy of planning, command and control of your fleet during the battle.

    Features:
    - Long gameplay. Save, Load, Pause - your best friends.
    - Teams locked (V.2.3).
    - Allied SOL system is deleted (WM MP->WM SP), where all the objects (up to Meka-Meka and Ceres) which now known are placed. Possibly will be available as another map in the future.
    - Ally-computer is added back. But now in a hostile system.(V 2.3)
    - Main phase path has no parallel.
    - Planetary sectors (clusters) may have a branched type of phase lines, which forming the periphery.
    - Some sectors are divided by wormholes (V 2.0.). Way to distant planets got a little closer.
    - 4 opponents are deleted (V 2.3). Cope at the start with these.
    - Home planets of opponents are connected with wormholes criss-cross their system (1.2 MP), but in order to get through to them, you need to cut through the pirates (1.7 MP)

    Overall:
    - Upgrade your computer ;). Some says the game can even take off in the dump due to such overload...

    - Withstand the onslaught of sophisticated computers, is to begin to give light a cigarette even to the real player opponents at your base defenses


    Strategic:
    - Here the hardiest wins. Only after that: strongest, crafty...
    - There are two ways from LoMS to explore: one is to the center of the system, the other to Kraz-Geleon. I suggest to attend the second at the beginning - it is easier, but longer.
    - Kung Fu with small forces - it is very cool, but here works only the roll bar and boxing with shock fleets.

    Planning actions:

    Tactic:
    - You know a magic button called "Pause"? Draw a little heart on it. At the first meeting with an epic battle, you will understand what I mean...
    - Hone your unit control. Be clear about the focus of your attention. If you do not cope - press pause.
    - Pause for 3 minutes does not mean that you are slowpoke. It means you have a serious fight.
    - If you start to feel your ships like native, so the chances of survival in the battle have been increased.
    - Fight in the best traditions of MMORPG raids: "tank" is in front and holds the damage incoming, "supports" are repair and recharge him, the others - deal own damage. Sufficiently reliable scheme, if each ship is fulfilling its role well.

    Actually, I was not going to create the topic, but... some people started to contacting with me, and especially asking the difficult but the same questions. So, this thread is created in order to fill some lack of information.
    So...



    1. What will happen with the "Under Crossing Fire" project?
    - I don't know. Currently all the works are stay on hold.
    Anyway, the story is divided to "UCF: Prehistory" (wich is the current story) and "The Chronicles of Guardian: Under Crossing Fire" (actual planned book based on integrated CF-CoG universes, CF-time is after thousands years from now and this project now on hold). So, the prehistory will continue if my clan members will present here in the future.
    Already released concepts (most of them on russian) are here. You can find some descriptions of CF-CoG integration within the spoiler in the targeted message at the link above. Also here you can find the info about the projected ships, weaponry, technology, fleet structure, short history concept and the descriptions of the "Omicron Psi" and the other related new systems.
    The concepts about future universe structure, cataclysm nature and consequences, key-events of the plot and the key-ships "Ksygon-Geleon" ("Shadow of the Land of the Morning Star"), "Kraz-Geleon" ("Friend of LoMS"), Planet-Crusher "Starflare", SunShine ship "LoMS" and the new constructed "Golden Arrow" are not released for now as not completed.


    2. What will happen with the clan?
    I haven't closed it. So, BC may arrive here and not one time. And it's also mean that I'm still supporting CF. Just not here.

    Better BS? I chosen the front cruiser of habit. It has less life but it is better against other cruisers. Always was... At least with the proper balance.

I said several times: BS can't survive even with the cover. Docking sequence was interupted with cover of 3 fighters. I was died in seconds. We could not even react.     I'm not the PvP pilot. I'm not the fighter pilot. So, there is nothing what i can do here even with the roleplay. And there is really no fun when i'm trying to dock and getting killed by NPCs fighters during the sequence.

    Ok. Now i'm calmed down a little and can talk about my vision of BS, crusiers and fregates (gunboats).


    1. Armor and shields.
    Do something with it. Every capital ship is designed for taking much damage until the fighters done their work. For now, fighters can't even cover battleships, while NPCs shoot the capitals prior to fighters.
    I can understand complete complete absence of even an emergency repair and recharge. But even these ships must not explode on the shot, as from a several torpedo impacts.


    2. Weaponry.
    Liberty front cruiser is designed as anti-capital battleship for close combat and even ramming. Logically to imagine that such a ship will bring down a fighter only with a very large fortune (that does not cancel ability to shoot down one heavy fighter during the manuver to attack). BUT.
    Where are the torpedo launchers? Where are heavy anti capital guns? I can shoot only by forward gun and it's damage... well... I'm usually dying before even one cruiser explosion.
    The same applies to other ships: anti-fighter battleships, fast gunboats, heavy armored battleships and others. They NEEED the proper weapons for their fighting style. Current "gentleman's kit" looks like a mockery.


    3. Again about ship classes:
    I do not see that value the the relation of BS fighting style, weapons and the correct armor, special abilities may be. You can use even homeworld logic: anti-capital is vulurable for fighters but can deal serious damage to heavy armored capitals. heavy armored capitals can slowly destroy almost everything, but dies very hard if there is no bombers with proper weapons flying around.
    Even in the original, that differense between the classes was a little better taked into account better than current situation.


    4. forever alone.
    I'm flying in the BS. What the hostile i can face? Several fighters... sucks... Oh, cruisers!... no.. the fleet of crusers... ok, truing to mape a safe distance to shoot. Oops, too close - several impacts and my ship has been annihilated by 3-4 ships for secons. So I can't deal with them alose, and it's right. But I can't survive it even with the cover... sucks again...


    Conclusion: at the moment, capital ships are completely useless. For roleplay, and for pvp. But as transport are quite good...


    Seriousy. Warships need to be improved, and even complete revision.
    And remember, that the battleship actually can hold 4 fighters. Even player fighters.

    For the god's sake, restore the power of a good old cruisers and battleships! Some cruisers cant handle with the fighters and can't hold any attacks. I get killed twice today by only 4 fighters and while docking. Docking, damn it!.. The cruisers are MUST be like a space tanks! They could not kill the fighetrs but mast HOLD the damage incoming at least for minutes, not for two or three seconds!


    A big space target dummy... Each time, I'm very frustrating. And these ships are only kind that i'm flying. All these forced crazy maneuvers of survival begin to seriously annoy.


    P.S. And do something with the sound of ion cannons. I can't hear anything.
