hi everyone. I have a quick question. I've been playing around with the vanilla freelancer files trying to figure things out and just playing around. And I was wondering if someone could tell me which file controls if the commodites are contraband or not (legal or illegal) and were the settings for each commodity in that aspect can be changed. Thanks for any help.

If having 80 items or more on a char to monitor trade prices is a problem for the server files...Then why do we have access to a soulforge train that can carry 5000 items. If this be the case then OP would have to reduce all ships in the game that carry cargo down so none of them would be able to carry more than 20 items..And if that is so good luck in trying to save up enough credits to buy that 10 million credit VHF that you want anytime soon before you die of old age.
just my oppionion. And if people are storaging more than 20 items on a ship just for keeping track of trade routes in my oppionion is smart thinking on their part. I'm just suprised more people have not thought of that yet.

Man i thought this was suppose to be just a game. I don't really care for the new rules myself. But i agree with OP on this one myself. I look at it as a new challenge for the role play myself. It makes the game that much more interesting.

Forgot to ask. If a freelancer has a store that is in NY and still under lvl 60 that is ok then isn't it? Seeing how the rules are for players that are over lvl 60. Am i correct on this point?

I got a question. If you are trading outside of NY or kill a player or NPC outside of NY and get cargo that has the best price inside of NY at the time due to the dynamic markrt we now have, Are we not allowed to go into NY long enough to sell the cargo and get out? If not that's cool, I can deal with that. I just want to know before hand so i don't break any server rules. I have read the new rules for NY and understand but it was never made clear if we couldn't trade between NY and another system in 1 run, just that we could not trade in NY only to my understanding. I think trading in NY only, and trading between NY and another system cause of the dynamic trade system is different. I just want to have it a little more clarified, thank you.

I found this laying around in a stack of papers of mine and thought you guys might find it funny. It's around 20 years old.

@Dopple
That's a very good point m8. I myself forgot for the moment that there as been a change to the trading system. It's dynamic now...
Is it possible to make NY a non-dynamic trading system with only the vanilla trades available in NY only and the rest of CF dynamic..Maybe that could help.
Oh yeah, Sorry for the loss of one of players. It's always disappointing to lose good players cause of things like this.

rely by oldgit:
Make it experience based
Below level 40 and you can stay and trade and camp
Above level 40 pass thru trade onlyreply by Argos:
why not just remove acess to NY to all players above 40 level?
that would be nicereply by burro:
I think New York should be left as it is and SP's be given the power to kill abusers.I agree with most of the above. But i feel NY should remain as is, with the exception to players who try to run and hide there. If they do that and they are above lvl 40 i think they should be a free target to the person chaseing after them, all they way into ny.
Do not allow NY as a save haven for runners cause they made someone mad or they are trying to escape death.
As for traders above lvl 40 they should be allowed to use NY as a pass through or to buy or sell goods but not to camp. One problem i see with not allowing players above lvl 40 in NY, Is for those non clan players who might have a storage or store located in NY for safety reasons, cause they don't have a clan system to keep their stuff in.
But for those players they should only be allowed so much time to conduct business then get out. Lets say like 15 or 20 minutes at the most. That's more than enough time to complete their business and clear out of the system.Once all chars are made and above lvl 40 they can park them somewhere else, like in California, Colorado, etc. just not in NY.
