    Kermit:
you will always have pilots (no matter what RP) who will only engage, when the "victim" is busy with npc's or the pilot has support from other players or npc's and those will mostly be "gone" when you could face again without them having any backup.
I personally call it being coward and they most likely call it strategy. But it is their choice to pick the way they want to face the opponent.
On the other hand, there will always be a point in time, when you can face them alone, without them having any support or backup.

I personally do attack my victims when they are "free" for it, but at some pilots I personally do not care a single moment, if they are busy or not. Depeding on my mood, on the experience I have with those pilots and on the npc's or opponents they are busy with.
There is no word, telling that a pirate has to wait for the opponent to be "free" to get taxed. Of course "waiting" is part of "fair play" (at least for my understanding). But then, life is not always fair.
And if someone has a problem with me engaging while being busy with npc's or other players. They are free to call for help and/or support, placing bounty, or when they feel unfairly treated, simply report me.
    It's still a game after all ;)

    Happy missioning :D
ps: dont worry, I don't like doing RP in X since it mostly turns out being laggy. Sirius is bigger than X-3043 and if Sirius is not enough, then I simply go to Altair and/or Inner Core:D:D

Easiest way for people to do it right now, is using a seperat ship as sort of store. (remember not to overload those ships, so it wont damage the ID or char)
Dropping all unnecessary equipment in there (which is hard to obtain) and leaving it.
So whenever new equipment is needed, they simply ask some company for a transfer of the equipment.

According to the actions and discussions being held, I politely ask you to finally start reporting things you think are wrong, suspicious or strange.

    Report:

    • possible usage of exploits
    • possible cheating
    • harassment
    • insults
    • offenses
    • broken rules
    • bugs
    • failures
    • ...

    USE:

    • PM on the forum
    • private chat on the server, if any GR or OP is on-line.

    Do NOT:

    • accuse others and make any reports in public area (eg. Forum or system chat on the server). If you guys are not sure about certain things, then better report your suspicion rather than start assuming and speculating. Assumption and speculation does not lead to anything but trouble and anger among all players. Make sure your reports are based on recognizable facts and/or evidence or witnesses.

    • just spread rumors about any players, only because you think they might do something which might not be right.
    • try to regulate things on your own, since this is also most likely leading into backfire toward your own butt.
    • try to play the rule enforcer when you are not having the rights to do so.

We GR's and also OP do not really care how much you report, as long you DO REPORT and stop that bullying and going against each other with assumptions, accusations and speculations. Remember the purpose of Crossfire - having fun, playing the game with others, relaxing. Once you finally start using the proper channels to report, which everyone can and should do if they have something to say, criticize or note, you will experience an increase of the gameplay itself.

    IF:

    • YOU don't tell then WE don't know and also can't do anything about it. We are NOT taking any action just because of rumors and/or wild accusations and/or speculations.
    • you are not sure who to report to: Take a look at the list of GR's
    • no GR is available on the server right that time, then simply use option given on the forum, called PM
    • necessary and if it makes you feel better, then send the report to more than just one GR at once (by using multiple recipients in the appropriate line at the PM window). Be aware that reports might NOT be handled immediately, but be sure it WILL BE taken care of.

This is not meant to point at anyone in particular, but it is meant to be a REMINDER of the way you should use in order to change things. Accusations, speculations, assumptions and rumors don't make things better, but works like you put oil into a burning fire.

    Thanks for reading

    Updated 2015-12-04

    for a change :)
I'm currently running an AMD Dual Core 5500+ 2.6GHz
    GeForce GTS 450
    4GB RAM (3.7GB used only) on Win32bit
    19'' wide screen from Philips
going to be sold as package shortly before moving.

And when arriving I'm going to get an Alienware :)
Then I beatz your buttz :P

It's most likely a conflict with other processes running (maybe in the background)
Try to seek via task manager, what unnecessary processes are running and close them.
Then try starting the launcher again.

Sometimes after updating via launcher, the launcher window disappears and a few seconds later the game itself starts.
Meanwhile it looks like the launcher has crashed and stopped working.
Try to give it a bit more time, after this "disappearing"

    Process is usually:
    starting the launcher
    datas get updated
    choosing MP/SP
launcher "closes" itself (between here and the next step, it could take a few seconds, depending on your specs)
main game starts (in full screen by default settings)

Hi and welcome to the portal and to CF :)

Missiles are worth having/using depending on the enemy you fight.
There are some opponents who are not worth using any missiles, on the other hand are some factions, where is quite supportive to have some missiles on board.

You should however always make sure that your enemy's shield is down before you try to hit with a missile. It's the most effective way.
Later in the SP game, you might discover some missile launcher which are much more stronger than those you can purchase. Just keep your eyes open for lootable wrecks, floating around in some systems.
When fighting enemies, you can also try to destroy their countermeasure dropper (with subtarget option) to make them loosing it.

In fact its all just a matter of tactics and practice. Don't give up and try different strategies. :)

    Good luck succeeding.

    Explo:
When you open the chat window (Y-key by default) you can also see in what systems other players are.
Then using the "system-chat" to talk "global" within that system (when being their yourself)

To permanently talk to a specified person you can also select this players name in the chat window, and by pressing <Enter> the player name already is marked, so you just need to type your message and send it.
To permanently talk to the group, you can also select the group-chat (upper side, above the players list) within the chat window
Permanently talking in system chat is set by default

system chat (/s <message>) (light grey color)- system wide messages, visible for all who are in the same system as you are
group chat (/g <message) (pink/purple color) - messages is visible for people being in the same group as you are
private chat (/<playername> <message>) (green color) - message only visible for the selected/adressed player

Those are the options you have as player, to communicate with other players on the server.
Keep in mind - System chat is English only | Group and private is whatever language the participating persons agreeing to.

Could you as OP or ADMIN rename a character ? In fact I want to rename my untagged one by [UR]watchursix-W0?
ps: couldn't warn [UR]GRAND BUT [UR]daka know my intention to rename it...

    thx for help

OP would be the only one to contact for re-naming things. But it most likely leads into char corruption. So he is not willing to do that (he said it in several other situations already) Sorry for that.

    Another thing would be.
The UR-tagged chars are still existing on the server, you are just not able to connect/log into them.
They are not gone in a technical way.

And here you surely do not have to apologize that you did not warn any UR-members about it.
It really has nothing to do with anyone else, but you and UR. Try to keep this within UR sections, so that no one else can stick their nose into business which is not even theirs.
Some people just love to take care of business which is not their own either to influence others, or blackmail later and then calling it "help" ;)
Im sure if you ask anyone for help in transfers, you will get help. If you are willing to make new chars.

Actually, it may be missing important information. The power regeneration. I think it's linked to ship model and items (some of then exists in CF to increase energy output, i think).

Without this information, hard to really know what weapons can be equipped without risking a huge loss of power during fight.

    keep searching (and testing).

    To be honest.

The ship flies without usage of power.
While being in cruise mode, you can not use any weapons at all, since they are turned off automaticly (except the countermeasure).
The power itself is only needed for firing guns which have power consumption, during the usage of regular guns.
Turrets, missiles, torpedos, mines, countermeasure and cruise distruptors don't need generated power.

There is nothing existing in CF or vanilla to increase the energy output.
The only thing what exists is the power generator (not sure if its not there in vanilla already)
The power generator is there to speed up/decrease the generating time/refilling time needed to refill the power cells. (visible as yellow bar on the lower middle of the cocpit)

    short question..

    clan systems open/closed?
    killing allowed/not allowed?
    distruption allowed/not allowed?

try to make things clear from the beginning, so no one can complain afterwards ;)

Michael. I keep it like the Borg. Parts of me are in every single pirate you can engage in the universe.
No matter if they called AbrasDevil or not :)
Oh wait.. only flying pilots can engage pirates ;)

Anyway. BORG does get all support they call for, as long they don't try to assimilate others :D

    Quote

Moreover when i update Cf on my laptop i lost my old id wich was connect to my CHAR TAGGED [UR]watchursix-W1 and others

means he lost his ID.. not available anymore.. gone..
and you can not log into something you dont have anymore. This should be common sense ;)

    Quote

Now my char is called Foxy_JetPack.

    could be interpreted as:
    he left UR ..
otherwise (I think) he could have simply made new UR-tagged chars.

his problem/choice. none of anyone elses business.

    reading helps sometimes ;)

    Hehe.

Then pick the police RP for your entire clan and "terrorize" the other people (fine for traffic (depending on level.. make up something nice, your imagination is asked for) , kill pirates on sight, hunt smugglers.)
Or pick the pirate RP for your entire clan and terrorize the others (tax all other pilots (depending on their level), kill cops on sight, and tax even more)

If you got a good imagination of things, you can make up pretty interesting "reasons" for all to be happy with.

I personally tax people, mostly just between 10 and 1000 credits. Not that someone would get bankrupt because of paying it, but with a nice story accompanying it, it gives a nice laugh and a good time on the server. ;)
oh.. btw. your welcome-tax from my side will be 101 credits :)
You better pay or my children have to starve again

When i try to play, i can login server and char my char but on base screen a warning tell me i am kicked because of a disturbing process. This message appears 1 min after my first connexion today, yesterday i was in omicron theta and just before kicked i was moved to New York, to the planet of the junkers in the story line... Where Juni sent us...

    Disturbing process is the key.

You should NOT have any downloads running while playing, as well as no file-sharing programs (eg. torrent programs) (not even the process itself, check your task manager)
If those programs are off, then you should not have any problems staying connected, not even with w-lan.

Once you have been sent to planet Pittsburgh (the one from SP-mission where Juni sent you) you got probably kicked from the server for possible cheat (wich you can not see on your own, since you only get the kick message, if any)
The "possible cheat message" gets via console information visible for all remaining players on the server.
This kick might affect your character/account and and might make them being "locked" on the planet.

Turn off ALL download-programs including file sharing programs (make sure you check your task manager for running processes in the background)
Restart the whole game and try to connect again
If you stay connected and you can undock and fly around, everything is ok
If it remains kicking you follow the sentence below.
    Good luck ;)

Use the Ticket-System to create a ticket, so OP will get information about it as well. And he will be the only one who can "unlock" your char(s), in case they are stuck on Pittsburgh.
