  • my departure from FL & CF

    as of this time i have a huge problem with my pc, it has a virus that cant be isolated. its just by chance that ive managed to type this!! i can rarely get online, a virus/worm has corrupted my security and my OS as far as i can gather and i need to recover files from my HD to do with business affairs. i cant affoprd for my pc to be looked at, money is that tight, and as you all know im not that good with pc stuff anyway.


    so i bid you all farewell. if i see you all again then its by chance i have things sorted, but its been fun flying/knowing you all. i hope we dont lose touch ;)

    Drakon has left because he has a lot of feelings for CF and its players and cant stand to see it end. CF was my first online gaming experience. FL is the only game i have played for the past 4 years, and when the GBS is eventually shuts down too i doubt that i will ever play another online game, unless microsoft ever create FL2.


    ive met lots of good ppl here aswell as some complete tossers(a very small minority). and i hope i dont lose contact with them.
    if any of you are passing through Amesbury please stop in my pub for a pint with me and sapph. you'll know who we are as sapph really does look like here avatar! lucky me ;)


    @OP: you created something great in CF, it has never been reproduced on any other server ive visited, the friendship, the comaraderie, the fun. its a real shame a few fuckin wankers have abused your trust and "forced" you into becoming as cynical as now. trust me thats not an insult, its what happens when ppl you trust fuck you over! i speak from experience.
    if there was one mod to survive out of the countless ones out there it should have been this one. you ALL should know that.
    anyway OP if you decide to have a change of heart, even after you close the server, you can count on everyone i know here to be back.


    We never know what the future holds OP, but i hope yours is as good as you hope for, and you fullfil your needs.

    yes lots of ppl will be disheartened with this but theres not alot you can do about that. all good things come to an end.


    sorry if it sounds like ive accepted the fate of the server, but i can only go off of what ive been told, what ive read and what ive witnessed.


    OP has stated his feelings, his reasons and his goals. no one can argue that, and i respect that.

    im sorry but ive been here over a year now and i dont recognize you Riconushin, so opinion means nothing to me, that is unless you have changed your CF name for a reason. 20euros a month to rent a system within CF , to me, means i do have the right to play there unless the Admin deam i have broken server rules and decide to ban me.
    you say some clans and players are parasites on this server, please F****** enlighten me^^
    btw, to the rest of the forum users, im not starting yet another flame here but i hate unqualified accusations, that may just be opinion, that arent backed up by proof.


    ive been SP here for long enough to see many clans/players come and go. witnessed the sometimes endless arguments, and helped settle them. i have done my utmost to preserve the RP, as have numerous others. the RP here is far better than on many servers i have visited.


    Anyway as far as i can see my comments, and yours Riconushin, are a waste of time. The server looks like it will be shutdown shortly and the forums will go private to SWAT.


    With this in mind i declare that UAC will no longer be a serverclan on Crossfire. I'm sorry but with such a definitively short run til the end of the mod, my First online FL expreience, im left feeling cold and numb. ive made many friends and had a great experience here, just a shame it seems like it will end before its time. after the GBS is shut down this is the place i would have stayed, and tried my damnest to bring others.

    how is the rest off the community supposed to communicate? what about new players who need help, even with getting the mod activated, or any other matter?
    no communication, no community........then what? no server?

    ok burro, seen as you like my ideas^^, heres another one :)


    this is one to try to give the pirates a more realistic stance with the npc's and planets/stations in sirius. i have seen on many servers that pirates use restart templates to allign thier RP alliances with the npc's. i suggest all new chars and players visiting here, who are pirates, use the restart. or try killing loads of house friendly npcs to get the required rep, and help boost your wealth at the same time. its only fair that the npc's should be able to lend a hand against thier enemies too if a convoy/police patrol gets ambushed!!


    and another advantage to doing this is that it will ensure that they can only dock at criminal stations and planets, obviously this shouldnt apply to pirates' trader chars.


    maybe the police, traders and mercs to do the same?


    btw im not trying to complicate RP or anything, just trying to get things going in the right direction.

    i see your point lance. i like the idea of being able to place say 1 char in each capitol system at a base that is aligned to the clan RP. i.e pirates could leave a char docked at buffalo base, police at planet manhatton. say in new berlin a police char could be docked at the planet and a pirate could have a char at kreuzberg depot, or in a nieghbouring system. as long as the base that the char is docked at is aligned with the clans' rp. or we could dsignate certain systems, within each sector of sirius, friendly to a cetrain RP. i.e NY aligned to police, magellan aligned to pirate, texas aligned to traders ... etc....


    just a thought.

    the karak has been tested in the past to exhibit some serious problems with regarding taking damage on too many points/panels of the ship.


    for this reason its been taken out of RP because it can offer too much of an unfair advantage to the pilot in pvp/battle scenarios. its ok to use it outside of RP tho, as is the Reliant BS which has serious enough issues too to be excluded from rp.
