btw, if you use another programme path (you installed it in a different directory), that doesn't matter, that kind of information is not stored in this file. So you can just download it, as long as you didn't edit anything else yourself. :]

Yes, that way Xfire will think FL is not installed, because exe2 doesn't exist.
I also tried some other lines, like MatchExe= in combination with Installhint= but that brings up another problem. If I use those two lines, the game will be detected, but the XIG (Xfire In-Game) won't work, unless I remove the LauncherExe= line. Also, both the launcher and game get recognized.
It's not really a problem, the only thing about it is that if you're in a chat with someone and you're going to launcher the game, you and the person you're chatting too are going to see something like:
    [Gust is playing Freelancer]
[Gust is no longer playing Freelancer]
    [Gust is playing Freelancer]
    But that's it.
    So I say it's good enough ^^

lol, as long as you shutdown the auto-patch feature, it won't download anything. If you keep it in your tray it shouldn't take too much RAM either. So like you said, it shouldn't be a problem for people who have the hardware. Hell, I've even seen Gunny with an Xfire profile with some FL hours registered if I remember correct, not entirely sure though, now that I think of it...
Anyway, just shutdown the auto-patch feature, turn down bandwidth use, keep it minimized and if you have to, choose a low quality skin. It's designed to be used with games, without disturbing them, unlike Fraps, so I think it should be fine.
I really recommend the use of it actually.

It's really easy. Just replace the original xfire_games.ini with this one and have Xfire 'Detect Games'.
You can also edit the xfire_games.ini yourself, if you already have an edited xfire_games.ini. Search (Crtl+F) for Freelancer in the file (open it with Notepad). Then add the following line above the ServerStatusType=FL
    DetectExe=*\Freelancer.EXE
    Save the file.
    Have Xfire 'Detect Games'.
    Enjoy.

    Grtz,
    Gust

PS: If you find anything that's bothering you with this, share and someone (maybe me, but I doubt it =P) can think of a solution for it, because this isn't perfect.
For instance, it would've been better if the launcher wasn't recognized as the game, but it's not really a bother though. I don't know how to solve it anyway.

there exists no command "/i&". when i explained earlier about how to use shortcut it was with the "/setbounty&" and only there (check my post earlier here for a complete description of setbounty command in combination with & or $)!

alternative to "/i$" is "/invite Charactername" or "/i Charactername" (note that Charactername must be full name, no shortcut here)

You're right then, you didn't make a typo, you simply didn't answer his question :P

I think you're supposed to use the & suffix and Haegar just made a typo. $ suffix for id's, & suffix for nicks, like he said earlier.
