    This is the location of the original files:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Freelancer 2 - Crossfire\EXE

    This was really helpful. I didn't know where the original files were missed the Freelancer2 Folder until now.
    The the launcher works now, thanks everyone!!!!!!!

    Update* Now i have another problem, but it's not for this thread! Looks like deactivating the mod to make changes breaks the mod completely.

    If is correct info I have then Avast like block files from EXE2 directory, this folder is created by launcher and contain game files during play ... maybe try add this folder durectly into exceptions can help.

    @Vulkrinshul there are some AVs which have serious issues with CF maybe bcs need much more strictly tell "don't touch"

    I tried this and it still didn't work.

    With some clever timing while this loop ran i managed to save a log file that said...

    00:32:54.144 --> [i]:Launcher is updated...
    00:32:55.345 --> [i]:LauncherUpdater connected

    Thanks for the advice I'm gonna try all of these. The FLMM didn't give me any errors when activating the mod. How do you check the log?

    BTW i use Avast as my AV and it did nothing throughout the whole installation process, I only temporarily disabled it to confirm that it was not the problem.

    Update* - My FLMM Folder doesn't have the Freelancer.exe, or cfwd.exe files.

    ... perhaps try to remove the write protections again
    ... check if there are some quarantined files in your AV/Security-programm
    ... tried to run the Freelancer.exe not from the desktop icon but from within the installation folder ? (as administrator) ?

    I've tried all of these, even disabled my AV and still the same results.

    Followed the Crossfire Installation Guide to the letter, but when i run the Freelancer.exe (with the mod activated in the FLMM) the LauncherUpdater tries to read the update information then closes everything and retries, repeatedly.

    I've attached a screen shot of what comes up...
