Yeah but that only helps you out of the asteroid field. I wanna go out of Hiruga altogether...

I PMed you my email, darkstalker.
Thank you darkjedi for your hints. Whilst I wait for the map to arrive, I'll try it out. ![]()
Hello,
After AGES of warping around Hiruga, it remains impossible for me to get out! I remain trapped in a loophole where I warp to the same sets of Jump Holes, even when taking a different one each time!?!?!
I need help to get out of there, it is a nicely done system, but right now the whole beauty of the maze-like Jump Holes is just becoming sickening. I wish to hell I had never gone there.
HELP!
Erm, the mod is already baldly installed if you are able to play the Storyline missions. Did you install the 1.56 mod first? Once you do that, you install the 1.57 PATCH, and then you install the Open SP addon FOR CROSSFIRE. Make sure that you have all these installed, and that nothing went wrong during the installation.
Hope that helps. ![]()

modern metallurgical processes mean that aluminum doesn't simply have to cast or pressed it can be extruded in to have geometric cavities IE honeycombs that greatly increase rigidity and can be alloyed with many other elements and bonded with no need for welds further reducing weight and increasing strength
Based on this, why not combine weight reduction kits with armour upgrades? By this I mean, since aluminium can be be extruded with honeycomb cavities and be stronger than sheets of steel, and aluminium is also lighter, then I suggest the following changes:
WRK MK1:
Provides an aluminium hull, strength increases by 10%, and the ship is more maneuverable and faster.
WRK MK2:
Provides an aluminium alloy hull, strength increases by 25%, ship speed and maneuverability remains the same as with MK1.
WRK MK3: (Is it the highest?)
Provides a Titanium Alpha Alloy* hull, strength increases by 50% but speed / maneuverability does not increase (Titanium is 60% heavier than Aluminium).
WRK MK4:
Provides a Titanium Beta Alloy* hull, strength increases by 65 %, speed / maneuverability decrease slightly to normal values.
WRK MK5:
Provides a mix of aluminium and Titanium Beta Alloy* to increase strength to 75% and increase speed and maneuverability.

Ok on that point I think I'll have to go in depth because I didn't make myself clear.
By trade calculator, I mean a tool which uses the information that you have gathered from your explorations to calculate the best route. Like when you buy commodities, if you look in your cargo hold and click on "Trade Routes", the best price is always shown on the top of the list.
The tool could use this info to calculate the best route, but doing so offline, so that players can plan in advance where they are going to go. I know someone did it before, but it only covered the default commodities of FL. In this case it could cover CF's commodities too.
Ok so what have we learned?
Eh?
Eh?
Well, we better ask OP to change our name if we really need it, and ask help from other players to transfer credits/equipment/weapons.
I think it can be locked now.
True, true... Ok well you can delete this thread now... ![]()
Well, I thought that each copy of Freelancer was assigned a special internet key, which is how we don't end up with others' character, but yes you are right considering the fact that the tool would need to access special files, it could cause a great security fault.
Hmm, perhaps you are right, MarcBomber. Maybe that idea could be useful for later though... Who knows...
Anyways, I guess we'll just have to use JTAK's method...
Anyone else has something to say?
I've seen threads where people asked about transfering funds from one character to another, and that the only way it could be done was by asking an Admin to do it for you.
Since the admins already have enough to take care of at the moment, I thought: Why not propose to create a tool to manage the characters?
It would be compatible with JoeBoomz's IONCross server manager (maybe we could ask him too) and it could be used on the Client-side to manage characters.
So for example, I have 2 accounts. One is for trading, the other is for fighting, racing, whatever... What I would like to do is be able to transfer credits earned through trading to my other account to buy equipment and such.
Also, it would be nice to transfer looted weapons across characters. Say I recuperated a bunch of MK2 weapons: I open the tool, decide which ones to swap, and bam! I don't need to be afraid of having to hold on to the weapons and the server crashing: they are saved with my other character!
Another neat feature would be to implement some kind of data transfer. Like if you explore with one character a lot and know a lot of places, and at the same time you discover interesting trade routes, you could be able to transfer your nav map and update the one on your other character. I think it is possible since you can buy information from NPCs...
Finally, a traderoute calculator would be nice. Based on your ship and commodities to trade (and on the bases known by the player), it calculates the profit made and the length of the trade route. Also, the route's "riskiness" could be measured (based on the friendliness with other factions and where they are through the systems), so that daring players can make high-risk, high-profit dealing, whilst new players can calculate good trade routes with less risk of getting killed.
I know this tool is doable, everything in Freelancer is coded or written down somewhere in a file, so the program would just need to be told how to interpret the data. I think it actually even exists for non-modded servers running the IONCross manager. Now we'd just need to make the necessary changes to have the tool work with CF 1.57.
So how does this idea sound to you guys?
Comments, constructive criticism and ideas are welcome. Go ahead: post!
Hey I thought the Ragnarok was available in Single Player??? What's up with that?
Ok well, I asked OP and so long the alterations only affect the music, it won't be considered cheating and he will allow it. Only I don't know if he will allow me to post how to make the necessary alterations therefore I won't post how to.
PM me if you would like to know.
I'm sorry but I don't see how changing the music can bring any unfair advantage ![]()
I would like to ask one last thing, though. Can we do a poll and find out how many people are not happy with the music in the bars? I'm sure many people would agree, that the current music is annoying.

the music will stay... turn off ur speakers instead
Ok. I can do that. But you didn't answer my other question. Is there any way WE can change it on our side to whatever music we want? Or might that affect something?
Is killing my ears!!! It was fun for a while, but hearing this every single time is just starting to get on my nerves. What happened to the cool songs of the original Freelancer? Why couldn't you guys keep those?
If it isn't planned to be changed soon, would it be possible for me to change the music back to what it was without affecting anything when playing online? Or does the mod 1.56 and the 1.57 patch overwrite the music??
Please help. That music is going to drive me nuts. [wall2]
I found a good trade route. It isn't the best, but for lazy pilots it should do just fine. And it isn't dangerous providing you are neutral with the Bounty Hunters and Outcasts.
Simply trade Diamonds from Sindewinder Base in Alaska (198/piece) to Planet CF (1650/piece). Its a short trip, but it does not pay much if you have little cargo space (around 100k with my 120 cargo Tempest). Good when you are outta cash and need some quick money.
OR
Mine copper in the Copperton Field (Colorado) and sell them at Pueblo station (400/piece). With a Drake (125 cargo hold) you can make 70,000 in one go. So this is better for beginning players or players with Soulforge Trains or any other large freighters. The good thing about this is, that credit you make is pure profit. It is time-consuming, so better go with mates to mine quickly.
My 2 cents.
---Off Topic---
Where can I get the Bullpup MKIII. I can't go to Custodian anymore, so is there an alternative base to buy it at?
It IS an OpenSP mod, you don't have to do the storyline missions, you can get started exploring straightaway.
1.56 and 1.57 are seperate versions. The best order in which to activate each of them is:
1.56 (and its the longest, let it run even though it looks hanged, shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes to install on a good rig)
Then 1.57 (let it overwrite some stuff from 1.56, even though FLMM gives you a big warning, ignore it, just patch)
And finally the OpenSP mod 1.1 for Crossfire!
Then you should have a clean FL with Crossfire mod!
