    Oh god, what are you guys doing? I see a lot of ppl here trying to cheer the guy up, but i also see the same persons sayin (cf WAS the best mod i've ever played..... i will MISS cf..... oh, good days we HAD while playing cf.....) It can be that i'm soo shocked by the announcement that i'm unwilling to accept! I say, the mod IS the beating heart of Freelancer itself. I've been in other games, i've seen great mods go down, and the original game with it (bridge commander was one of them.).


    There are several new games that would beat the crap on FL engine, and it's graphics, i'm not soo clouded to avoid seeing that, but the only reason why FL stays on top is because of it's online community. And come on, let's be realistic, CF IS pretty much 49% of the whole FL community.


    I've promissed myself that next year i would rent a system. But i was also thinking that my clan would never go so far. Nevertheless, i KNEW that the server would survive that long, so even without my clan i could be able to continue socializing with such great people.


    Now you see, i know that most of you don't understand most of the emphasis i'm trying to put in this post, but most of it means: If you wanna cheer up op, don't mourn on his work.


    Now op, please man, i agree with NewPol, deceptions does give bad advises. I remember when you've said you would leave the community, and that was bcuz some bad ppl on the communit let you down. When you'd calm down, you thinked right didn't you? So, if you haven't gave up to those ppl, why will you give up to these bugs?

    You've missed the whole thing, you leave for 8 hours and someone register at the forum, do shit and THEN gets banned.

    Perhaps some beta testers offered themselves to be beta testers just to receive the beta version and to be able to connect before everyone else. just to see how 1.61 was like.


    If this really happened, there is the reason why so many errors and bugs were not reported, because of amateur beta testers. I'm only saying this because i'm not aware of the full list of beta testers, and the ones that i know that were testers shurely wouldn't do that.


    ps to samunate as well: Could you please edit that post and remove all those smiles? Because it's irritating having to scroll the page left and right, left and right, left and right to read what other ppl are posting.


    Or could someone with admin rights do that?

    Oh yeah, if the bottleneck is the hd, due to heavy hd usage, it would also be nice to study the avaible hd's, and RAM options.


    In the meanwhile, i think that most of us would agree. You should get an opteron.

    Speaking in money, 3 and 4 are your best choices. And to be honest, i don't like dual-core cpu's, they're pretty fast, but have some incompatibilities with some software, same way as 64bit cpu's, but since 64bit cpu's are on the scene for more time than dual-core, most of the inconpatibilities has been fixed.


    So really, from my point of view (there are ppl here that have an larger knowlodge about hardware than i do, that's for shure) you rly should get option 4.


    but beeing cheaper is an temptating option....

  • Crossfire LAN server

    Today!? the server has been with a little lag today. Perhaps because of some player joining the server with corrupt files... Don't give up, beeing from Australia isn't such a big deal..

  • APC Freighter

    Hmm, aparting beeing fun that's also very interesting. Did you positioned your gunboat there when someone opened the doors, or the doors opened for ya when you pressed F3? Seeing from this position, perhaps the Bretonian gunship would fit there..

  • activation problem

    Glad to hear that it's working again, but you haven't downloaded it again have you?...


    I've seen people saying that everyone needs to change the file type of the HD to FAT32 prior to activating the mod. Just to remind, you gotta reformat the entire HD to do that.


    I think that some of the advices, like downloading the same file again are exagerated :)

    is there any special reason for the info about the location and the price of the APC Freighter not beeing avaible at the Crossfire Database? It's because i can't stay too much time connected, got other things to do and can't expend precious time looking for it.
