Maybe updating? Or closing and restarting Crossfire? Suiciding? Restarting the Computer?
That's so strange, I've never had a problem with the warp anomaly. Only when I deliberately detour from the waypoint did I have a problem. The anomaly is so big that it wouldn't matter where you docked as long as you got the waypoint. Whenever I warped through that one I had to wait for NPCs to dock first.

It might have something to do with the whole mod, the MP server isn't working properly either.

Hey man, that's no good. have you tried holding off docking until you hear "objective reached"? It might be worth chasing the waypoint down first and then when it says objective reached then dock.

Yeah Juni doesn't move from the last jump point if she can't find her way to a waypoint. I've dragged her all over Sirius before to get better ships and weapons - it may be the best time to upgrade - and you can just abandon her and when you jump she miraculously appears in the next system next to you :)

But if you find she's not moving, just jump back to where the last waypoint was and she should find it.

    My ship is a Titan (12,600 armour, 71/71 Nan./Batt.)
My shield is an Adv. Brigandine (8,280, regen=168)
    I have a shield upgrade (MK2, +4 regen)
    My weapons are:
    - 5 Salamanca MK1s (159 shield damage, 318 hull damage)
    - 1 Tizona del Cid (1,240 shield damage, 40 hull damage)
    - 1 Reaper Turret (101, 50)

The shields go down fast with the TdC, but the hull takes a bit longer.

Hey, I am trying to get through the third level and I can't get past it.

So, I get the datadisk from the Coalition ship in Nephele, and the Raiders attack me. I died the first time but every other time I have defeated them. Then I head to the jumpgate, and (surprise!!!) 3 more to take out. The issue is, I can't take more than 1 out before I lose my turrets and then I'm on the losing side; I've tried about six times.

Reloading the autosave restarts the level. I've tried searching for bases to autosave on, but it appears that they don't exist. I've added in strafing, which has helped a bit. I have the best weapons and ship I could find, from Corsario. I'm not sure what to do; the most recent point I can get out of X is level 2 beginning (and that's when I dragged Juni through Corsario to find a better ship). I'm out of ideas, and losing patience with the campaign. Does anyone have ideas to help?

    MortenS,
Thank you for your reply. My vanilla Freelancer works absolutely fine, and so does Discovery 4.84, Discovery 4.85, and Discovery 4.86, as well as Tekagi's Treasure.

    Martind Forlon,
Thank you for yours also. According to the instructions, I thought it best to keep the internet off by the time the launcher was up. Although no updates were made, it still crashed.

Also, I am using the internet browser Opera. I switched from Firefox a few months ago because it started playing up sometimes and it got a bit slow. Opera has for the most part worked fine and been quicker and more efficient.

So. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Freelancer and Crossfire, but I've never been able to get the game to work. I've found these instructions:

This is the proper procedure to install

succesfully Crossfire 1.9 (The Dark Ages) :

    1. Log in and

deactivate your anti-virus and your firewall softwares.

    2. Uninstall

everything related to any old Freelancer install (including all

previously installed mods, FLMM, the game itself, the savegames and

screenshots). Reboot the PC. Don't forget to deactivate your AV and

    firewall again after reboot.

    3. Install

regular Freelancer by default as much as possible. Launch the game to

check the basic install is working. If not, restart the install.

    4. Install

FLMM v1.31 (no other versions !) available on SWAT Portal.

    5. Download

Crossfire 1.9 installer from SWAT Portal.

    6. Execute the

installer. This will automatically extract Crossfire 1.8 Mod into

FLMM mods folder. Make sure to point it to your FLMM install if it

does not. It is not necessary to point it to the \mods folder in your

FLMM directory as the installer will assume that folder is there.

    7. Once the

extraction is completed, the installer launches FLMM. Select the mod

in the list and click "Activate".

    8. Select

whatever options you wish but if you use a laptop or an older graphic

card, it is strongly suggested to turn on the graphic compatibility

mode. It is also better to avoid using the "News cursors"

because they sometimes blur with gunfire.

    9. Once the

mod as been activated without errors, you should start your game. A

launcher will automatically install the latest patches and updates

for multiplayer gaming. If you don't have an active internet

connection, only singleplayer will be available to you. Once you're

ready to fly, launch the game. For multiplayer, in the game menu go

to Multiplayer > Internet > Select SWAT Crossfire Server in the

    servers list.

    10. Create

your characters and enjoy the mod.

Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 worked absolutely fine. I've been unable to download 1.9 as it stops with an error at around 137 MB. However, I have the 1.82 setupt file I downloaded a while ago, and after I disabled 3D sound in vanilla, and re-deleted the savegame folder, I tried with that...Steps 6, and 7 worked. Since my card works fine in vanilla, despite it having a popup stating it does not recognise my graphics card, I skipped 8.

So I started my game. The launcher was fine. I clicked singleplayer, and it began to load, only to have the screen go black and say,

    "Freelancer Fatal Error

Freelancer did not detect a 3D capable video card in your system.

If you have a capable 3D video card installed please try rebooting. You may need to reinstall the game."

    [ OK ]

So, I rebooted my system and it didn't work. Next, I installed GPU-Z.0.5.8 and checked my graphics card in the file flconfigdatabase.txt and tried to follow the instructions on the forum. But I actually found the card, and it also had the suggested change of code already made.

What's more, although Husker encountered problems, he was able to access the game at least, and his card is identical to mine.

What do I do? I would just be happy getting 1.82 to work in singleplayer.
