As much as it matters, I supported Elite since I am a big fan of the previous installments, and I will not support Star Citizen until I see some solid proof that the game is actually not pay2win and will not require me to spend another $60 on top of the $60 I'll drop for the finished game.

It sure will. I have an even worse one on my laptop which is 6 years old and it can run CF without a problem on high settings (45-60FPS)

Try completing the SP Campaign, then jump in multiplayer. You won't need a bot companion at all. We're a helpful community, just ask and you'll get an answer within a couple of hours and help
