Exactly how much time are we talking, OP?

As I feared. Oh well, thanks for the heads up OP.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread. Is there any sort of update? Last I heard (in 2011), this mod was on "hold" and then it just sort of fell off the map. I've been trying to find a good mod with some Star Wars ships and I'm not too sure how active NightStalker's is anymore.

Thanks for the quick response!!
But....if there aren't no PDS, how do Capital Ships stand against fighters and battleships, at the same time??? Or only one target is considered at once?
Turrets.

So what the OP is saying is that it takes you out of the game experience? It makes you notice that it's there? Makes you read whatever the hell it is?
.......
Mission accomplished? The point of it being there is that you're supposed to notice it, take note of what it says, and follow the rules. It prevents people from pleading ignorance to the rules that they're thinking about breaking. Deal with it.

Gotta side with Grand, seemed to me that for a couple days, SA lost all spine when it came to PX. They damned near had their way with us in their "negotiations", glad everyone came to their senses.

such a section exists, zool : http://www.swat-portal.com/php…php?page=Board&boardID=79
Its all in stickies...
We both know age is rarely, if ever indicative of maturity.
My suggestion would be for clans to keep track of who they've given permission to and what it was regarding. Is it a hassle for the clans? Sure. But better to hassle the clans than the new players who just want to enjoy the game without being pestered nonstop.

People are opinionated and are always willing to tell you which ship they think is best. I've had countless people knock my decision to fly the Shroud and Bullpup MK3. "Lagg and APC are so much better!" they'd say. So what? People will question every decision you make in life, that's just the reality of things. If that's enough to drive you away, sorry to hear that. Good luck, sayonara.

Happy belated, hope it was a good one. Cheers brother.

Which is totally understandable. This mod is huge, and so are the responsibilities that come with it. You can't be expected to play and run the mod 24/7 obviously. As for the activity, I loved the fact that I could come back to the mod after 4 years to find the old RP spirit is still around and there are still plenty of players to shoot.

Someone who plays the game and hasn't once complained about any perceived inactivity on the server?
-
40-50 people? Rarely happens. Even in my first crack at Crossfire, the server generally had anywhere from 20-30 people, sometimes with no one on at all. I understand how much work has gone into CF, but you can't force people to play a game. To be blunt, most of us have better things to do than spend all our time playing video games. Even so, I've always considered 30 people to be relatively active, especially with a game like Freelancer that should have died out 4 years ago. From what I've seen in the past month, CF has had a good deal of activity. Is that enough to satisfy OP? Not my place to say. Is it enough for me? Certainly.

I wasn't there very long, but my brief experience was a very fun one. That's how this game is supposed to be played!

NVM again
-
Edit: NVM, rookie mistake. Buying a gunboat or destroyer, can't mount any of those weapons

I buy VIPs on Manhattan for 600, sell them at Trenton Outpost (about as short a trade route as there is) for 1200, then buy water at Trenton for 24 and sell at Manhattan for 90. Repeat process, make decent money, buy bigger ship, make more money. Not difficult at all.

Seem to have gotten it all sorted out. However, my mod launcher is not reverting to 1.56, will that be an issue?
-
I seem to have gotten past the activating in FLMM issue, but still stuck at "Freelancer did not detect a 3D capable video adapter in your system. If you have a 3D capable video adapter installed please try rebooting. You may need to reinstall the game."
I've made sure my drivers are updated, Direct3D is enabled, still nothing. I'm on a Mobile Intel video card. Might the OpenGL settings be an issue? I can mess around with those. I'm going nuts trying to get this thing figured out, I haven't played Crossfire in a few years and am urgent to get back in action

Whenever I actually get the mod activated, I try to start the game and gives me the 3d card error. Issue being, there's no option to continue. The only button is "OK", and then it closes.

Sorry, facepalm moment. I am running 1.82, got it mixed up with FLMM 1.31
