  • Im a noob in freelancer..a bit limited if you check x2 or x3 (not me thanx starforce) but online...you can´t make many things and Fr has 3 years, so the mods are very important.

Freelancer version 1.0 i think the patch is server side not client side.

spanish ( if language has something with the problems and i have problems with language config in the keyboard).

    FLMM 1.31
    crossfire 1.62

first flmm 1.31 then i made a mistake with crossfire..the folder was (((C:\Archivos de programa\Freelancer Mod Manager))) and flmm didnt found the mod so ....i uninstalled the mod...only a little file of 4kb and the folder behind so...to the trash.

then again i launched crossfire v1.62 installer but the folder was C:\Archivos de programa\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire

note: archivos de programa is the same as programm files

then i opened flmm, activated mod (it takes time), then i tried to launch FReelancer but nothing happened.

    mod deactivated....flmm out....freelancer normal launch...all ok.

i dont know where is the problem, i found something strange

    C:\Archivos de programa\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Crossfire\mods\Crossfire1.62

    the installer made mods((\Crossfire\mods\Crossfire1.62)))
    maybe must be only(((\Crossfire1.62)))

i think is a folder problem but not my fault

i only have this one (and the ones with flmm), as i ended SP and played enough in mp with my char so before boring....i prefer to test mods.

sry for posting this here (i would prefer a tech problem forum but you dont have it).

    sry if its long.... :(

  • I would suggest you remove Freelancer Mod Manager and the Crossfire mod (use the uninstall option for both), reboot, and reinstall it (place it for instance in C:\FLMM). Install Crossfire again, and notice the correct location of FLMM. Also make sure that FLMM is NOT running when installing the Crossfire mod.
After that start FLMM and activate the mod.
If that isn't solving the problem, then delete FL completely (also FLMM and Crossfire mod), remove old links, reboot and start over again. Do not apply a patch to Freelancer after installing it.

Remember to write down your FLID - otherwise you might loose some ships and cash.

It's just a game, and it will always remain a game

  • sry but

what is FLID? just in case i must uninstall Fr.

looking inside crossfire folder...it looks like it was designed not to be used with FLMM, as the launcher of CF calls for a file "common.dll" and that file is in Fr folder.

i think it won´t work as CF installer create such strage folder system...but i will try thx for the advice.

FLMM has its own extension .***, in this case i think is a design problem of Fr, not to use mods.

The extension system allows all files in one...like relic game HW2 .big extension.

Is a bit strange after so many years with mods (game market in general) out there dev teams still make the mistake to not integrate a mod system in their games from the begining.

    i bought the game 3 +- weeks ago for 10 euros. :P

  • secuence

    CF uninstalled

FLMM activated to see if all is ok...only a little problem nothing special

    FLMM closed

    reboot
    FLMM activated to restore backups

    FLMM uninstalled

    reboot

    FLMM installed c:\FLMM

    reboot

    CF installed C:\FLMM\mods\Crossfire\mods\Crossfire1.62

    reboot

FLMM activated...CF activated with FLMM...FLMM Fr Launch

    nothing...works

If i install CF in c:\FLMM the programm wont recognize the mod.

I think is a folder problem in the install util of CF...the install must be like only c:\FLMM\Crossfire1.62 with other files in other place like web link or uninstall util.

One way is by brute force..deactivating first CF in FLMM...and then and moving Crossfire1.62 folder 2 ways up to something like c:\FLMM\Crossfire1.62 but its too risky...

I tried to install CF in c:\programm files\FLMM the first time and didnt work...so...

I wont uninstall everything just to test if something works....CF out...void mod in....

    thnx
