me and my router

    Ok, i got a problemo.


    My router is set up properly and i can use it fine.
    Now here's the but:


    Problem 1:: I do a file transfer from my desktop to my laptop, and i can connect to the network drive. I right click file and select "copy". Then i go to my desktop and right click, then it takes about 5minutes and then opens menu. I click "paste" and it sends it over.
    Why it take so long? its not the computer, i've checked that.


    Problemo 2:: I try and file transfer back from laptop to Desktop, i open My Computer and select network drive of laptop and it comes up with "network drive cannot be restored". Yet again i checked PC and connections and if the drive exists on other end. And they do.


    Overall Summary: I connect to computers and they either go really slow, or not at all.


    PS: ALL CONNECTIONS GO THROUGH ROUTER, IF IT HELPS

    Short answer is its probably not your router that is the problem (if you can see both boxes from your router, meaning they are on the same IP sub-net).
    Can you PM with with details of the OS's on each machine, and if they are set up for file sharing, I will try and help you.
