Java Update

  • For the last couple of weeks, the multiplayer auto-loader on my
computer for Freelancer Crossfire has been acting sluggish and
out-right locking up when I tried to "Connect to Server" or
    "Exit Crossfire Universe".
Being the lazy person that I am, I would simply Ctl-Alt-Delete to
the task manager and kill the program from there.
But to-day, after an automatic update to Java ,(Version 6
    Update 26),
the program has restored it's self, and is now
so well behaved that I had to double check and make sure I was using
    the same computer.
Was anyone else experiencing any slow downs or crashes recently?
If so, did updating Java do anything for you?
I'm curious because this was an unexpected quick fix, not that I'm
    complaining...

My computer is an i7 920, 6 GB memory, 1TB WD HDD with an Invedia 550 ti 1GB video card.

  • i am irritated how Java engine is possibly connected to the Launcher - that was never my intention and so purely coincidental, lol ;)
