Problem running CF after new install

Hi everyone one,

One of my friend's having trouble starting the game after a fresh install of FL then CF1.7.

The error is :

Any idea how to fix this ?

For the specs here's what i know : Running on vista, Windows Firewall disabled and no AV running, fresh install of FL.

did u start everything as administrator? do u have permission to write into freelancer path? do u have all read only attributes removed from folders and files in ur freelancer path? did u follow "Installation Instructions" in the CF Guide?

I might add : Set "Total Control" to the user "Everyone" on the Freelancer folder in the security tab of the property window of the folder. I know that kind of thing gave me trouble with and ASP.NET app once cause i didn't had right to write temp files in a folder.

I'll make sure he tries all this thx everyone ! Will post back the result soon...
