MSINET.OCX invalid? Whu?

Try the run as administrator to start it instead of just double clicking.

right click on the CF icon on the desktop. There should be a run as administrator selection

If it's the first time you launch CF it needs to download some big updates. Let it do it's thing.
You may need to do it a few times.

when u see captain picard (in the Crossfire Launcher window) CF should already be installed and just needs the AUTOMATIC (just wait till its done) patches to be loaded (some of them daily).

The daily updates are smaller of course.

for me too it says that
"component 'MSINET.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

but running it as admin doesnt help at all.

i got windows 7, and followed the guide(i think)
i guess when it says
7.install freelancer , i have to install the patch 1.1 too dont i?

and the cf1.7a patch goes to to the freelancer directory after point 7? or do i have to install into the /mods/crossfire folder of flmm?

i did it now about 5 times always the same problem...

after installing the 1.7a patch the message occurs.

thanks god i did a backup of the exe this time at least i dont need to reinstall it another time

when deinstalling 1.7a and overwrite the exe with the backed up one i can start the game...
but not with the mod....

rly guys its annoying that it is so hard to install this mod

i hoped after reinstalling my pc it wud work but no way(did it yesterday)

so i actually got only flmm and freelancer installed.

if u c any mistakes in the processes tell me plz(maybe installing 1.1patch before freelancer? [12]

is it possible that vista/w7 just dont let some registry entries be installed? cant u just export these registry than maybe to let em apply manually?
actually the only reason i cud imagine why it shudnt work, cus probably it doesnt matter what u install first and what later(except patches)

holy crap you are the first guy on earth to have problems with CF and Windows 7, I think your case is hopeless
