  • I have freelancer mod manager v1.3 have no other mods installed and it was working very happily until one time i load the mod ans it comes up with this
"Error: problem activating 'crossfire mod 1.70 client edition' look in the log for more details

Do you wish to restore backups? (strongly recommended)

Please help, and where is the "log"

    Thanks

  • firstly can you post that error from the log? then we might figure out where's the problem... I guess there are problems with the read-only flag of several files

  • Chances are if you have a firewall installed, its blocking some of the files from changing. Some firewalls mistake a few of the files to be Trojans and prevents them from loading the way they need to. If you do have a firewall, try disabling, and stopping all the firewall processes, then activate CF again.

  • Hm not sure either in the main directory of FLMM or in any subdirectory, cant have a look at it at the moment, gonna tell you more about it this evening.

Most errors that appear are SHCopy failed... in the status window situated in the lower parts of FLMM...

  • I have been getting the same errors. It's always a character head file that is not being copied, I even tried deleting all the head files out of the freelancer directory and that didn't work. The biggest thing that confuses me is that I HAD the crossfire SP up and running, I started the game up today and it crashed. I deactivated the mod, then tried reactivating it and it wouldn't work with either FLMM 1.31 or 1.44 beta. I tried uninstalling everything related to freelancer I have, even downloading new copies of crossfire and FLMM, reinstalling everything and it's still a no-go. Any help would be appreciated, even though it's an old game, it's still one of my favs!

Remember, some people are alive simply because it's illegal to shoot them.

  • Well we have an install guide. Could you confirm that you followed all the steps mentioned in there by the point? Just want to make sure we are on the same page ;)

Furthermore if the game crashes than eventually the 3d audio option was not disabled or your files are out of synch.
