Help, puleeze

    My comp seems to have a problem. At least that's what i'm told on a forum when i want to post it says my IP adress is blocked. It then refers me to this site: http://cbl.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=83.77.147.102 but to be honest i have no clue what to do now.
    Can someone tell me in simple, pc-dummy-proof english?

    Seems either you got infected by a worm or something that sends massive mails from this (your) IP. Or someone reported your IP to be considered as SPAM mailer. You should contact your ISP to let them prove the facts - finally please make sure you dont have any trojans and or worms on your pc.

    i tried posting on the same forum with the same comp but different connection and it worked (it didn't work back home yesterday but it works at my workplace).


    Does that mean that the other comp back home is infected with some kind of bug? (i'd love it if that were the case, i know someone who'd be laughed at all day, hehehe)


    And does someone know of a good removal tool for bugs?

    CCleaner/Easy Cleaner(you can run the Easy Cleaner from Start/All Programs , after the installation) , they both are working very nice, and if that doesn't help , just unistall the Windows^^

    Ccleaner is just a temporary file cleaner, and registry cleaner, it wont do any good for viruses. My advice, get spybot search and destroy, its a great spyware remover, and is completely free. For a good AV you could try Avast, my 2 roomates use it and it seems to work great for them.

    Hehe,, well.. if you want an spy remover , --> Spy Emergency 2008 , 30 days trial but removes every spyware threat. About Anti-Virus - > McAfee VirusScan Plus 2008-1 year free license/McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise -1,2 year free license , I use and used them for a very long time and no virus or anything else atm^^

    Well I know from personal experiance that Mcafee is a major resource hog, and slows the comp down to a crawl. As for the spy emergency, I would personally not use anything that ends in "emergency 2008"

    Reinstalling windows is usually the safest bet, not to mention it only takes up to about an hour to do the whole thing.


    Also if you haven't reinstalled recently (say like 6-8 months probably an year too) it usually does wonders if you do...

    Jack, it took me about a day to get CF running the last time i did that. Plus all the other stuff i'd need to reinstall. Besides, i guess that it isn't my comp that's screwed. So i just kick a certain someone in his lovely behind and tell him to reinstall HIS windows ;)

    even IPs have nothing to do with ccleaner or uninstall windows - once your IP is blocked.
    Your other comp has another IP, or same? Even some may lock it due to your MAC address. So the combination of IP and MAC may cause it...


    Just try to get another IP by refresh your connection and router or ask you ISP ;)
