    I have been speaking to many people in the past with Lag problems when playing on CF some of these problems are due to spyware.


    If you have an issue CF has a command prompt type /ping....it will disply for you your Ping any packet losses and Fluct both packet loss and fluct should be 0.


    If you see that you have Fluct run a Spyware scan....If you dont have one i recommend Spyware Search and Destroy its is free to download from here:

    If you have a GOOD AV they all come with real time protection as for good software Weebroots spysweeper is probably the best you can get.


    Even if you have Zone Alarm Pro firewall this come with a good Spyware scanner and Bitdefender Antivirus also comes with good Spyware scanner.


    This is all very good info but you will be amazed how many people who have asked me that dont have 1 Spyware remover program at all.

    Spyware Terminator does not work on 98. :(


    I also could not find Weebroots Spyware. :(

    But the other program Slayer mentioned is Webroot.. just a mis-spell.. and I totally agree with him.. Webroot is an excellent program too.

    EDIT: In looking at this site again, though, the minimum sys requirement is Windows 2000, XP or Vista, so I don't think this one will work for you either :(


    Maybe Slayer can recommend one that will work for your system.. or you can always do a torrent search to upgrade to XP or Vista.. ;)

    I beleive Spybot Search and Destroy does work with win 98 see my main post for link:)

    If you do use this program make sure you know what exactly you are deleting as it will detect any unusual activity including activity from programs you use.
