launcher dwnload

    almost every time i start the launcher it downloads file 6 or 7 and looses connection to the launcher, forcing me to restart.


    it says " crossire update not found ... only singleplayer avalible [E4]" i have a nice steady 100mb/s connection


    what can i do

    that and it just went to dwlding file 500.....


    did that a few hours ago......

    i just checked a minute ago: no probs with the update process here, all is working fine! i do get file 1 to 8 without any problem and the MP button gets enabled...


    in ur case E4 means trouble with updating a file, as u already mentioned (more error numbers explained in the CF Guide in the section "Crossfire Launcher")


    u say that file 6 or 7 do troubles on ur machine, what about file 1 to 5? do they download?


    if ur connection is not the problem, maybe u have troubles with ur installation... did u do a clean install, as explained in the CF Guide?


    is ur firewall set up properly? do u run in admin mode or gave permission to write into the freelancer installation path?

    yes to all 3 questions... i saw the E4 error explanation in the guide.... that didnt help me at all i dont know how to fix it

    i would suggest to see if ur line is unstable (and i mean from ur comp all the way to the update server)...


    else: i dunno, i cannot do a diagnostic of ur system from here.


    is ur internet explorer installation ok?

    i use IE6... whould it help to install IE7 and use it as primary internet?

    (in other words comcast is screwing up...) i have a total internet connection of 154mb/s and it take 47 seconds to load this forum page..... yeah i spent a whole 20 min just replying to this....grrrrrr...... we have confermied its not my computer (double click mozila and it pops up half a second later) just the page wont load like its sopposed to. it loads like its dial-up....god forbid...this is my longest post.....ill laugh if ur actually reading this.....


    im getting a techincian to check on the fiber optic cables in my area, might be a lil dirty, like it was last week...


    ill polly be up and running in about a week...


    im so miserable, depressed, i wanted to play this game cause my friend said it was freakin awsome. now if you dont mind im going to go slit my wrists and pray to god OP_R8R cand invent a reviving machine... see u later

    When you get the 500 ish files downloaded, open FL Singleplayer and then close it, run the launcher again until you find it downloads 8 files - then you know you are all sorted.


    Comcast are a good ISP, i used to use them - connection was brilliant! [w00t]

    ok i just found out that it was comcast... they had some poorly protected fiber optic cables recently added, and they gor dirty, restricting the light flow. it nice and fast now... and it took all of half a second to load this page.


    im downloading right now and its a file 56
