Last week, Lead Designer Al Rivera had the chance to stop by the fan podcast Priority One: A Roddenberry Star Trek Podcast, and answered their questions about The Rise of Discovery! You can hear that interview, and read their description, below: "This week, we’re Trekking Out some new information about the Jean-Luc Picard series – and it IS the title – but we also get a look at Picards “Upfront” clip and on-set photos. Then Discovery sings Sir Patrick Stewart’s praise and a giant Enterprise sells in Canada. In our Star Trek gaming segment, Star Trek Online Lead Designer, Al “Captain Gecko” Rivera, stops by to talk about the newest Discovery missions featuring Rekha Sharma and Jason Isaacs and what he took away from the CBS Global Partners Summit." .share-footer a { margin: 20px 10px 10px 0; background: url(d7afaaa14e96d0d973f76157ae31ec5b1466398539.png) no-repeat 0 0; opacity:

Here's another neat Morningstar wallpaper by

    tkdrobert

    . Unlike his last

    piece

, this one features the heavy fighter at rest on a flight deck somewhere. It uses Klavs' baseline fighter model again, and this time tkdrobert has added landing gear and a pilot. The hangar reminds me of the asteroid bases from Wing Commander 3, which would be an interesting angle. You can find more of his work at DeviantArt

There has been much speculation about starship technician Gan Romero, whose dreams are believed to have directed him to steal a ship from a starport hangar.

On the Rewired network, independent journalist Flint 'Firemaker' Lafosse offered this analysis:

"Romero's dream journal entries were very similar to Jasmina Halsey's visions after the Starship One incident three years ago. Was this lowly grease monkey in touch with the same 'caretakers of our galaxy' that Halsey claims spoke to her?"

"Sure, it could be coincidence. Maybe even a shared psychological disorder. But it seems possible that Halsey and Romero were telepathically contacted by the same incorporeal intelligence."

"You can see why they might want to talk to a Federal president. But a starport technician? What's so special about Romero? If he's telling the truth then who knows how many more ordinary people have heard these summons

    We were incredibly excited to have Rekha Sharma, the talented actress behind Commander Ellen Landry, come to Cryptic Studios to record her lines for Rise of Discovery. While she was here, she took a break from recording to sit down with Ambassador Kael and walk through the Discovery sets we’ve recreated in the game, while also answering some of your questions. Take a look: .share-footer a { margin: 20px 10px 10px 0; background: url(d7afaaa14e96d0d973f76157ae31ec5b1466398539.png) no-repeat 0 0; opacity: .5; display: inline-block; height: 60px; width: 60px; padding: 0; border: 1px solid transparent; -webkit-transition: opacity .3s; transition: opacity .3s; } .share-footer .TI { background-position: 0 20%; } .share-footer .YT { background-position: 0 40%; } .share-footer .YT { background-position: 0 40%; } .share-footer .TW { background-position: 0 60%;

Fans have recently rallied to save The Tick after its cancellation by Amazon Studios last week. The superhero show stars François Chau, among many others, who played Vagabond in Wing Commanders 3 and 4. He's been a big voice in the campaign to bring the show back, and he's gotten some major support from Mark Hamill. Far from being a lost cause, the show's creator and cast have announced that they are signed on for more episodes, and their production partners are reportedly looking for another network willing to air a third season. Amazon Prime subscribers can catch the highly rated show for free on Prime Video. Mr. Chau continues to be active in a wide variety of sci-fi shows from Stargate SG1 to Lost to The Expanse to the new X-Files, but it's neat to see him remember his Wing Commander roots like this!

Hey Mark! This is your old pal Vagabond from our Wing Commander days. A big thanks for your

Here's another nifty teaser for the

    WC4 Remaster

fan project. We saw DefianceIndustries' immersive

    Hellcat cockpit

a couple months back, and now

    Pedro

has integrated it into game for the first time. It demonstrates a neat effect with the game's familiar HUD being projected in front of the cockpit glass. There appear to be some nice lighting effects as well. The team cautions that there's still a lot of work to go, but things already look promising!

Second Officer’s Log, Supplemental My third night shift with the conn has been rather sedate thus far. Several members of the command staff are enjoying some off-duty entertainment in Holodeck Two; I believe it has something to do with a peculiar form of Terran mythology from the 20th century known as “super heroics.” The captain seemed amused by my tactical suggestions for the event, particularly regarding the inefficiency of capes in close combat situations. “All decks have reported in,” Ensign Chen said from the Operations station. “We’re ready to begin the system maintenance sweep at your command.” Second Officer Stoln nodded from the center chair while calling up a display to monitor the procedure. “Very well, Ensign. Begin the procedure, starting with deck 30.” The young Vulcan officer studied the holographic readout emitted from the command chair’s armrest and
