…Hello Everyone!
Thank you so much for the positive response to The Abyss update for No Man’s Sky, released only a few days ago. We’ve really enjoyed seeing players experiment with the new base parts, explore the enhanced aquatic environments in the Nautilon submarine, and share their close encounters with fearsome underwater predators.
The team here is keeping up the pace this week with another update, patching up a few issues and introducing the next Community Research mission.

This week, Priest Entity Nada is reaching out to explorers for assistance with Polo’s research missions. Their Gek friend, rattled by the events revisited by the time-altering device, has fallen into an introspective mood, and appears to have withdrawn from the project. Nada intends to act fast to overcome this – with help from their traveller friends across the galaxies.

…A radical group called Nova Imperium is gaining influence throughout the Empire.
Imperial Herald journalist Cassia Carvalho highlighted the situation:
"Nova Imperium claims that to survive the Thargoid conflict, the Empire must sever contact with all other systems and concentrate on protecting itself. In recent months, the organisation has become a genuine political force."
"The group's leader is known only as the Imperator. Dressed in an Imperial Navy uniform, he is a charismatic presence who speaks of 'a return to the honour of the old days' and 'the glory of Achenar'."
"Many traditionalist citizens, unhappy with recent cross-superpower cooperation, have embraced the Imperator's rhetoric. On several worlds, Nova Imperium's followers hold rallies with a distinctly martial feel."

Senator Caspian Leopold has announced that his appeal for aid, in association with the Niflhel Guardians Of Tradition, has been enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots supported the initiative by delivering commodities to Biruni Port, and by protecting traders in the Niflhel system.
A spokesperson for Senator Leopold made the following statement:
"Thanks to the work of many brave pilots, a humanitarian crisis has been narrowly averted. Senator Leopold has expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the campaign, and has assured refugees at his rehabilitation centre that new homes will be found for each and every one of them."
Pilots who contributed to the initiative can now collect their rewards from Biruni Port in the Niflhel system.

Recent reports from the Geras system indicate that after a spate of reciprocal attacks, hostilities between Geras First and Ndozins State Inc have escalated into all-out war.
According to Donal Varden, an independent journalist:
"For several months we've seen these factions sniping at one another from the shadows, but now the stakes have been raised. It won't be long before the space lanes of Geras are littered with the burned-out shells of dead ships."
The warring organisations have issued calls to independent combat pilots for support. Commanders who participate in the conflict will be generously rewarded by their chosen faction.
Both factions have set out week-long operations to take control of the system, which will begin on the 1st of November 3304.

…Arena of Sompek Event: Resolved an issue that could cause enemies to not spawn in the Arena. Existing versions of the "Collect Arena of Sompek Event Rewards" (Sompek Pulsewave) Event Reputation Project will now have their requirements set to 1 "Merit of Sompek". This will auto-complete the project for anyone that already has progress recorded. Resolved a typo in the Arena of Sompek description that stated the Event was only for levels 50 – 60. Now refers to levels 50 – 65. General: All Mission Transwarps have been set to no longer have an Energy Credit fee associated with them. Resolved an issue which caused the Prototype Light Exploration Cruiser to be unavailable to some characters. …Fantastic Plastichas listed an interesting 3D-printed model kit for sale. They offer a 7-inch 1:72 Arrow designed by Alfred Wong for $70. Wingnuts might recall that he made a
9.5-inch 1:48 kitlast year. Aside from being a bit smaller and less detailed, the ship looks pretty good and comes in a fair bit bigger than a lot of miniatures or 3D prints out there. Their product page includes an

Inspector Erin Sangster of Alliance Interpol made this statement:
"The death of Fazia Silva has been officially ruled as homicide. The use of a sophisticated nerve toxin and the circumvention of security at Hume Orbital suggests the involvement of one or more professional assassins."
"Unfortunately, we have now exhausted all possible avenues of investigation, and are left with no option but to consider the case closed."
President Gibson Kincaid told the media:
"I have no doubt that the murder of Ms Silva was designed to disrupt our democracy, and I will not rest until the Alliance's enemies pay for their crimes."

Following the launch of the Valkyrie from Anvil Aerospace, we took your community-voted questions to our designers to give you more information on the recently unveiled troop/personnel transport.

If the Valkyrie can´t hold cargo, how are the players supposed to transport small supplies (ammo, food…) and weapons (like mortars or anti-tank weapons, railguns or RPGs etc…) to the front lines?
The Valkyrie’s purpose is to carry troops and a vehicle down to a location, drop them off, and provide close support via its weaponry. It is very much a dropship/gunship rather than a resupply ship. While some dropships may simply drop off the team and jet, the Valkyrie is equipped to provide continued support for drop off and extraction. The troops onboard have a gunrack per seat alongside storage

…Sometimes exploration of new ideas and new technologies leads to dark places. In Star Trek, we’ve seen many a cautionary tale about omniscient supercomputers, time travel, genetic manipulation, and telepathic oppression. The pursuit of knowledge isn’t always safe or pretty. Hearts and Minds is a mini-mission that explores the consequences of some unconventional research gone awry. This mission is a “story in one act,” so you can easily finish it in a quick play session, and it’s easy to complete it with any additional characters that you may have on your account – which is handy, because the mission offers a special reward. Since Hearts and Minds is a horror story, it will only be around for Friday the 13th, whenever that may fall on the calendar – and perhaps another sufficiently horrifying day that we might choose! …Adm_Maverickhas posted further instructions on how to turn his simple WC fighter templates into small cardboard miniatures. He simply prints out the artwork below, affixes it to plain cereal box cardboard, cuts the outlines and glues the final product together. The results, as previously shared, are astounding for such a simple method. It's a neat art project anyone can try!
I just use cereal boxes for the cardboard. Just print out the templates on any half decent inkjet printer, use a glue stick to glue the template down to the cardboard. Let it dry... for like 12 hours. Then use an exacto-blade to cut out the parts. Any parts that are white with a black outline are just meant to build up body mass.
