new Crossfire-server with name "Star Citizen World"

yesterday i was shortly on that mysterious new server. they even dare to show that it is just a copy of Crossfire. u can see an excerpt of the server rules seen above planet Manhatten.

  • The rules are client side only... they would even appear if you try to play vanilla when CF is active on your PC. I just doubt that you would be able to connect without crashing the server. Ive no information yet about who is running that server. Surprisingly it is hosted in germany.

    • but i was on that server yesterday as u can see. Apache on the other hand told me, he was kicked. i am on it right now. they have added some hook-commands and other stuff. it's not possible to buy commodities. if u want i can make some more testings.

    • i am in X 3043 now. most of the hook-commands don't seem to work. everything else looks the same.

    • The clan rules are still only created on the client. Even on the original CF server they dont exist. Its client generated content. The commodity stuff of course does not work since their server can not synchronize with the clients.

    • To be honest the biggest surprise was for me location of theirs server host. Especially when it looks to me that Germans rly care about 'copyright rights' (at least officially).

    • the who.is request for the server-IP (https://who.is/whois-ip/ip-address/5.9.189.67) results, that the server is hosted on http://www.hetzner.de. a telefon call to Hetzner gave following info: write an email about this subject to abuse@hetzner.de. does not seem to make a big trouble to get this out of the world :)

  • This has been already reported, Huor said, they are working on it to close it. It's open for a bout a week or so already
