I don't think you have to do the multiplayer bit to enjoy StarLancer. I think having played it in SP helps me appreciate Crossfire. I loved flying the Patriot in SL. Now I can fly an even better version online in CF. Consider Crossfire the Starlancer multiplayer you couldn't get before.
