As Windows 7 offer this Quality of Service (QoS), i think this is worth a try, if u guys are willing to test this. This is only available from Windows 7 or equilevant OS. Windows XP "only" offer an API to do this and i have found no information whether Freelancer uses this API. First you need to write down the current ping from the server when u are online (or the values you remember). Do this from the Chat with the /ping command ingame or the value in Crossfire 24/7 RP server select page. Please…

I totally agree with you Gunny - thats the essence of the UDP protocol and the internet. Not much to do about that. But as ip-phones (same technique) does work via internet, i think it's worth a shot. Any gains above 0% is positive - right ? I could suggest VPN connections to the server, but i don't think i will do that (really bad timing). This will probably require registration of ip-adresses for whitelisting, cost credits and OPs time to set it up.

The only thing I found out was that a program called TCP Optimizer helped a bit regarding ping. For some reason you have to run this program again after some time - perhaps some updates alter these values.Find this program at SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / DownloadsIf you use Windows 8, you have to run this program as Administrator! Most important is that you alter the connection speed to your internet speed. Choose optimal settings and Apply changes - that's it.If you, for some reason, to ha…
