Is your PSU fan working all the time or cutting out? How about your CPU fan? What you described sounds like an over-heating problem. CPU's are designed to shut the system down with a fail-safe temperature monitor in order to prevent the damage of over-heating. I have 64 bit win7 ultimate and I have zero problems with any 32 bit or 64 bit programs or hardware for that matter. So its not the fault of the OS, its the fault of the user in most cases for not selecting the correct drivers OR not doing their homework on their hardware before hand.
