I hope you have installed Crossfire 1.9 bcs Canis sector come only with this latest mod and it is released only 2 months ago ... search in friendly Dom'Kavash space in Inner Core as suggested Michael. You will ofc need some key to open gaten but .... (Hidden Content) .... but your best option is play campaign in Single player (not open SP! ... It will show you crossfire history and in many new campaign missions you will go also to Canis Sector.
