Hmm, since window mode isn't available you guys, if you need to multitask to a certain extent you can minimize with the windows start button. Sure you can't run several applications and efficiently use them all at once, but anytime that you're not cruising to a distant waypoint there isn't really much reason in working on other things I would think.

Try going into the audio options. If you turn off 3D sound the crashes should stop. Try that and if it doesn't work come back and tell us. One way or another we should be able to help you fix the problem. Have fun.

A good point, but unfortunately 30 days late. Seriously though, I need to get in the habit of shutting other stuff down again... should apply that once the server is back up. Usually I'd have three or four other programs running - mind you they hardly use any of my processing capacity - but at least I never download while serverside. Intersting though, lag has been very low in the past month or two regardless. Prolly a combination of OP's magic and low serverload.
