i'll let OP deal with the first part.... The altair nav map is not showing because the map you see when you press F6 cannot be dynamically changed for another sector. And putting all the Altair and IC systems in the same window as Sirius will just be terribly confusing... to locate your ship on the nav map, click on the ship icon on the top left of the nav map and click the jump gates/holes icons to jump to the next system you wish to see on the map. We can't do better sorry...
