I don't think that's the problem. In the last 3 days the amount of lag has been terrible for me and before that just fine. I don't actually get yellow or red flashes declaring lag, everything just jumps... sometimes so much so that it's impossible to engage other players, NPCs, navigate, or even get to the nearest base to dock.
